I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Whitestown, IN) in Sep 2011
Interview
Was initially contacted by a recruiter after submitting resume online. It was about a 20 minute screen, she asked the usual screening questions and then asked me to calculate a labor-hour problem. It was very easy, just people x hours x rate.
She said she would set up a phone interview with a local manager. I then received an email from someone else with the phone appointment info. I did not receive the call, so I emailed back to reschedule. It was rescheduled with a different manager 3 days later. That call went fine, the usual behavioral questions as detailed on the other reviews. At the end of the call, he said I could expect a call within 48 hours, letting me know if I would continue in the process. I got the call within 2 hours and an appointment was set for the following week. I was provided a set of four case studies to respond to and be prepared to discuss in the interview.
I was provided an itinerary that proved to be inaccurate when I arrived. My scheduled time was off by an hour, the contact person was different, and the participants in the panels were different. The panels went as I expected, with the math quiz and the usual behavioral questions. My math problem was identical to one provided on this site. There was only one question related to my answers to the case studies.
About 4 days after the interview, they called and said they were going with a different applicant. Lessons learned: don't get rattled if things don't go exactly as laid out. The math is easy if you have done any kind of work planning or forecasting before. Be prepared for STAR answers to behavioral questions. Be patient.
Good luck, everyone. I hope you all find the right opportunity soon.

Interview
Extremely unprofessional in my opinion. Talked to 3 different people, all of whom were wearing old sweatshirts and not looking at the camera. As I was sitting on zoom in a suit jacket, did not feel at all a place I would be valued at.

Question 1
Conflict between coworkers, how would you approach resolving?
All virtual. STAR interview questions (situation task action result). Think of examples of tough situations you had to deal with. I think I had 2 or 3 interviews before I got an offer. Pretty smooth process overall.
or an Amazon Level 4 (L4) Area Manager phone interview, you will face 2 to 3 main behavioral questions, alongside a highly possible operational math screening question. Because L4 is typically an entry-level management role (often targeted at recent college graduates or individuals with early-stage leadership experience), the focus shifts heavily toward potential, basic problem-solving, and your ability to lead groups of people
