RBC Financial Group – “General Review”
1 of 1 people found this helpfulPros
Great enterprise-wide opportunities, firm has breadth and depth of operations, though international operations are mostly limited to the southeast U.S. and the Caribbean, with some limited opportunities in Global Capital Markets and Wealth Management in London and Hong Kong.
Cons
People are often expected to do many lateral career moves with little or no increase in compensation.
Some of the management can be paternalistic, but most firms have this issue.
Advice to Senior Management
The firm already has a good program of performance recognition, but needs to work harder to avoid jobs going to those who have simply "been there longer". Time and again, the most "experienced" candidate gets the job, but may be completely incompetent.
Secondly, the performance management of under-performing employees is far too forgiving. How can someone remain within the firm after four to five years of clear incompetence?
