TeleTech – “Remember: It's a call center”
Pros
I have learned a lot at TeleTech about working with people -- the "soft skills" that make it easier to deal with customers and do business, as well as some leadership skills. TeleTech is committed to educating its employees. I recently took a beginning management class through a local community college, and most of the things that were covered I had already learned through working at TeleTech.
Cons
It's a call center. That means your schedule and how you do your job is going to be micromanaged. They will be watching whether you get to work on time, come back from break or lunch on time, and how often you go to the bathroom. There are very specific guidelines that you have to follow on your phone calls, and the calls come in one after the other.
Advice to Senior Management
Management could do a better job communicating about what is going on with the company, and giving positive feedback. They say that they want to treat people well, but a lot of the feedback is negative. I think this is partly a reflection of the environment/industry though.
