Lack of Leadership, Transparency, and Clear Processes Negatively Impact Employee Morale and Growth
Pros
While my experience is limited to the finance and accounting departments, I believe other areas of the company may operate more effectively.
Cons
This company has potential, but there are significant issues at the management level. Leadership lacks transparency, and there are no established processes or procedures in place. Employees who excel often go unrecognized, and favoritism appears to play a significant role. Unfortunately, discrimination seems prevalent, and decisions to terminate employees can be abrupt and without proper cause or notice. In my experience, the department I worked in was particularly problematic. Leadership displayed unprofessional behavior, including instances of yelling, sending inappropriate emails, and demonstrating an inability to handle constructive feedback. For example, the assistant controller (initials “D”) often reacted emotionally and failed to foster a collaborative work environment. Additionally, there was a severe lack of communication, and goals were not clearly defined or communicated across the team. I was terminated under circumstances that I believe were unjust. My dismissal occurred after I attempted to provide constructive insights on how the system could be improved, only to be perceived as a threat by leadership. Despite my adherence to the company’s undefined policies, I was accused of not following procedures, even though no clear guidelines were ever implemented. When I filed for unemployment, the company attempted to deny my claim, citing reasons that contradicted the reality of the situation. This experience highlighted a lack of professionalism, fairness, and structure within the organization, which greatly impacts morale and employee satisfaction.
