      Cons

Alo is a brand with great potential, but its growth is undermined by senior managers and executives. The toxic corporate culture, fueled by ineffective leadership, is exacerbated by a pattern of blame-shifting rather than accountability. Don't be deceived by the emphasis on wellness and community during recruitment and onboarding - the facade quickly fades when sales performance starts to slip.

      Pros

You can bring your dog to the office Nice discount on their clothing Overall chill environment with mostly younger workforce so you can make friends easily depending on the team

      Cons

Do not give into the sham they try and portray themselves with on social media. They are the complete opposite. No mindfulness and wellness will be found here. Management is completely toxic where you'll always be feeling stressed, and they feel like they can yell at you over the smallest thing like it's completely normal thing to do. Every department whether it's accounting, marketing, retail, production, design, logistics, etc.. are completely overworked and stressed, but upper management doesn't care because they're in delululand and lining their own pockets based on the hard work all the employees are doing. They will give themselves promotions and raises and then email the entire company patting themselves on the back, IT'S THAT BAD!!! When working here, you're constantly going to have to feel like you need to defend yourself. You'll be thrown a ton of work and when you can't get to it all you'll be berated and told you're not good enough. Other departments and people love pointing the finger at you because they don't feel like they should have any accountability. A lot of out of touch people over here but who can really blame them when everyone is constantly stressed and overworked just to line up the cancerous upper management's pockets. Speaking to that, they recently moved to a "flex pto" schedule where you don't even get holidays off. You want to be with your family on Thanksgiving or Christmas? Well too bad. You need to get it approved. They also took away WFH but still give the option to certain people, teams, and contractors, usually the ceo's pet favorites. Contractors and the C tier "influencers" they parade around here get better treatment than employees. Lastly, the opportunities for advancement are completely minimal. They do not want to invest in you to do better. They would rather hire from outside or overpay a contractor just to not promote you. Raises and bonuses for most employees are completely abysmal. They all go to contractors and upper management. It's pathetic. And then they do a surprised pikachu face when turnover is so high. It's been multiple times already where an entire team will just completely quit because they've had enough. Mental breakdowns and people crying is a common theme at this company. If you value any part of yourself, STAY FAR AWAY!!! The only good thing I can say of this place is the dog policy and that is not nearly enough to put up with this sham of a company. Even the dogs themselves get stressed out just being in this office.

      Pros

      - great employee discount - some very smart colleagues - “cool” brand to work for, if you care about that

      Cons

      - toxic upper management / leadership that doesn’t align their actions with their words or supposed brand values - clout chasing culture filled with wannabe influencers. Actual influencers are valued over employees who put the work into growing the company - burnout and unrealistic expectations - difficult to grow - high attrition and employee turnover makes it difficult to see through projects and increases pressure and burnout

      Pros

Competitive base salary above $120K, paid weekly, with solid benefits. Modern office space with access to the Alo gym.

      Cons

The culture outside of the Beverly Hills office is nothing like what the brand promotes. Supporting Retail and field teams is often toxic, chaotic, and completely disconnected from the company’s stated values. Retail leadership functions as a closed circle of friends from past companies, and anyone who raises concerns or offers alternative viewpoints is brushed off, mocked, or labeled as “not a team player.” Both HR and Retail leaders can be openly condescending, and there is a clear expectation to say yes to everything, no matter how unreasonable. There is essentially no upward mobility within HR Operations, and multiple HRBPs have left because the constant Retail issues create an unsustainable workload. Stores frequently deal with internal conflict, inappropriate behavior, and recurring compliance problems, and HR is somehow expected to fix all of it remotely with no real partnership from field leadership. District Managers vary widely in professionalism. Some are fine, but many behave in ways that would never be tolerated in a healthy culture. I once escalated a DM making inappropriate comments about “pretty girls” being hired at a store, and it was completely swept under the rug. Incidents like this are not treated seriously, and accountability rarely exists because most DMs are part of the same friend group, protected regardless of their behavior. Hiring and decision-making can feel subjective, superficial, and at times irresponsible. Overall, the structure feels broken from the inside, and the longer you are there, the harder it becomes to justify how misaligned the culture is with the brand image.
