      Pros

Plenty of apportunities to grow and change career. The pay and benefits are great compared to other banks.

      Cons

You feel you are just a number and sometimes no matter how you struggle to change things, if it doesnt come from up down, it wont happen.

      Pros

Crown Corp: The company's mandate is respectable, fostering economic growth for small to medium sized enterprises. Very good benefits and retirement plan, with mid to mid-high salary ranges. There's good people here. Innovative tech and ideas for growth. The only Crown Corp who has not cost taxpayer dollars & is self sufficient without CA Government funding. It is really the only institution who prides itself on developing entrepreneurs vs simply loaning money.

      Cons

Currently top heavy, with vague leadership. Internal processes will sometimes get in the way of good works, given the mandate. Sometimes corporate perception decisions will be a stumbling block. They have lost their way somewhat, in becoming a primary lender vs a supplementary aid for financial support. The developmental side of ent. support has dropped to an afterthought.

      Pros

Solid work life balance, and just tons of really nice, well-meaning people. Excellent benefits, including a DB pension - which is hard to find anywhere, let alone in financial services.

      Cons

Heavy sales/BD focus, even for people with strong sales skills. I sort of got the sense that the company had evolved to be more about competing with the big Canadian banks, rather than filling a void in the market that was historically outside of the banks’ risk appetite.

Good bank compared to other big 5
