What is the hiring process like at Baker Tilly?

Worked with a small team that really listened when you brought ideas to the table. Everyone was willing to work on bettering our processes. Baker Tilly as a whole is large and has good programs in place to help you earn promotions and raises.

Every time we hired someone onto our team, the process was extremely rushed. It led to some inexperienced people being brought on when we really needed seasoned experts.

I like the hiring process and the training, very infomative.

The job duties are very hard to understand and if you fall behind you can never catch up

I really liked the team and the intern program was really well structured for students. The interviewing process was also pretty simple.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the work, but that is what internships are for!

Started with Moss Adams, but so far so good as a new staff in the BT merge

The onboarding process was rough going into the company in the middle of a merge

Felt that my manager and team I worked for really supported my growth and learning throughout the process

Sometimes didn't have much to do

the interpersonal atmosphere was somewhat relaxed

lied about remote work constant "lateral moves" that somehow ended up with more responsibility but no pay raise or title change. illegal practices essentially equating to fraud (enterprise software license abuse) cronyism in the extreme no internal mobility. low pay for the job duties. very low hiring rates for PoC and somehow they always seemed to be blamed for "behavioral issues"

Less rigid communication process with managers and partners

Lower remuneration compared to Big 4

Baker Tilly acquired a company formally known as "The Compliance Group" 4 years ago. They accommodated us with the upmost professionalism and corporate respect within their welcome. It was supposed to be a great, yet we already excluded, on the outside, and excluded...

Recently Baker Tilly merged with a company named (Moss Adams) and communicated this would not affect FS Mortgage in any way. Two weeks after blatantly lying to our faces - they laid off half of the FS Mortgage division with reasons of "restructuring". Most of us have been here 4 to 7 years. We were completely blindsided and are devastated. Note of caution, when companies begin to grow larger due to an acquisition or merger - the greedier they will become and forget what they once stood on... which was simple "Respect". The richer will indeed get richer. As much as I loved this company, I am more heartbroken for so many effected in the process the concern for their own pockets. It's clear, they brought in Moss Adam's employees through the merger and literally ungratefully pushed out so many loyal, dependable, stable and professional people out the door... And to now further see how management (kept) who they wanted, it is just sickening to my stomach. As much as they want us to think it was just a random selection, it has been confirmed with proof that it wasn't. Just wow...
