What is the salary like at Beamery?

      Pros

Salary remains competitive but is attainable elsewhere. There are good people but they are diminishing in number. Green shoots with a new CEO with sensible thoughts but yet to see any action on those.

      Cons

The company has been in decline for 2 years. Stability is non existent, 4 redundancy rounds in as many years and twice as many engineering restructures make it a hard environment to settle. To refute a recent review this is not about intolerance to change but a signal of low cohesion and conviction. Favouritism is rife. Senior leadership are too far removed (and in some cases too incompetent to realise) from day to day to understand the challenges engineering face. This results in performance being an assessment of presence and sycophantic tendancy as opposed to a measure of competence and substance. The excuse of "we're a startup" or "we're a scale up" is often peddled to explain repeated bad decision making or corner cutting using whichever is convenient at the time. Constant flux results in people owning products and software they are unfamiliar with. Often poorly built, even the newer stuff, time is scarce to improve quality and resilience before the next restructure. There are too many people who add little to no value and this puts pressure on others. Accountability is low, where it is expressed it is only in words not action. Benefits that made Beamery stand out in the job market have been eroded. Sabbaticals after 2/4 years tenure and first Friday of the month off are now a thing of the past. The salary remains competitive but don't expect it to change unless you're considered a flight risk. There is more as the soap opera continues but this is already lengthy so will bring this to a close.

      Pros

Company with big ambitions & clear focus. Smart and hard working colleagues. Fascinating problem space - you can learn a lot of new things about human data, how AI can be applied to solve real challenges (and where it does not make sense ;)) . Good pay and benefits.

      Cons

Stressful at times - you need to be ready to put hours in, move fast and develop/have resiliency to context switching.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. The application of AI in the HR space is incredibly exciting and we’re proud to be at the forefront of this - the product is only in such a strong position because of the hard work of our incredible team and we’re incredibly grateful to each and every colleague who has contributed so far. We know that it can be challenging to work for a company as quickly evolving as ours, and it isn’t for everybody. However, we believe that the flexibility and benefits we provide (as well as the chance to work on some of the most exciting issues in this space) more than compensate. Pros

      - As an organization, our product truly makes a difference in improving the hiring process for companies across the globe and creates meaningful opportunities for talented individuals regardless of their background. As a sales rep, it is great to sell a product you truly believe in. - Remote first sales team with a great culture and opportunities to get together as a team. Great salary and benefits. US benefits and insurance are top of the line. Unlimited PTO, First Fridays unplugged each month to rest up and recharge. - Improving sales organization and culture—Renewed focus and leadership globally in the sales organization following SKO last month. Clear vision on where to focus our time and alignment on working together to exceed sales targets within ICP accounts. Sales leaders are supportive and in the trenches with AEs, extremely clear on expectations, and provide valuable feedback/coaching. - Opportunity to make an Impact - As a growing startup with a smaller sales team, there are a ton of accounts to go after to meet and exceed quota. If you like the challenge of hunting deals and finding whitespace opportunities, Beamery is a good fit for you. As a sales rep, you have a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the company as a whole versus what you can do at a larger org. - Compensation Plan - Every AE is going to be looking for this bullet. The compensation plan meets & exceeds industry standards and rewards overperformance for surpassing quota. - Teamwork and collaboration—Beamery employees some of the most talented colleagues I have had the pleasure of working with across all departments. Folks are quick to respond to Slack or hop on a Zoom call to collaborate to solve a problem or help sign a new client.

      Cons

      - Startup Challenges - Fast-moving tech company that is not immune to growing pains. Things change rapidly in the HR industry, so you'll need to be able to roll with the punches and adapt accordingly. - Data Silos amongst teams - Teamwork is getting better on an individual level, but sometimes it can seem like decisions across departments are not looked at holistically. Communication of these changes/decisions could be improved as this information is often hard to find and not communicated thoroughly.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us – the level of detail you’ve gone into is really useful and makes us better able to act on what you’ve mentioned. Our mission is super important, so we’re glad to hear you share our perspective, especially when you’re going to be representing Beamery in front of customers. We want all of our employees to feel valued and supported, and I believe our salary and overall benefits package go a long way to helping achieve this. We know we’re not perfect, though, and the issue of teams working in silos has come up before – this is something we’re working really hard to rectify. A more collaborative culture will help us all go further! We’re excited to see what the rest of 2024 holds, and I thank you for your contribution so far. Abakar Saidov, CEO and Co-founder

      Pros

I absolutely love working for Beamery. Remote work, unlimited PTO, 1 month sabbatical (enjoyed in 2024), fair salary and bonuses are all great pros BUT it's the people and culture that make Beamery my employer of choice. There have certainly been some ups and downs but I'm not going anywhere (unless forced). The Beamery team is passionate about what we do everyday from both a product and customer experience perspective. The teams work so well together, the partnerships, collaboration and support across the organization is unmatched and that goes all the way to the top. I can honestly say those that I work closely with are the best in class and I'm always excited for every new project I kick off with them because I know together we will succeed!

      Cons

I really can't think of anything I would consider a true con.

      Pros

Pay is good as are benefits. I experienced great work life balance, but have heard from others it's not good across all departments, especially now with mandated RTO in London.

      Cons

Three rounds of layoffs in as many years, and they are absolutely callous when they do it. Announce it, say "good luck to our colleagues" and turn the meeting off without another word. LOL there is no empathy there whatsoever, probably because all the C-Suite level people are oddly never impacted??? They should be with their bloated salaries and constant travel to London. They mandated return to office in London, probably to help an additional amount of people quit and help their bottom line. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Stay far away and watch as they most likely don't make it to the end of 2025. Pop the popcorn, y'all.

A Delusional Business stuck in its own Echo Chamber

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - As time went on, most benefits were eroded as the company struggled more and more. - Decent pay still but very much attainable elsewhere. - Nice big office which no one seems to go to.

      Cons

      - Zero benefits left to speak of, used to get things such as sabbaticals and the first Friday off each month. -leadership are stuck in there own echo chamber and when things go bad they constantly look for the closest scapegoat. - people would disappear on slack overnight causing major disruption to projects and more often than not the role would not be backfilled causing mass amounts of workload on top of what you need to do already. - saw three separate CEOs at my time at the business representing them not knowing how to move forward or to save the business. - A CTO that would promise things on customer calls and not be able to deliver causing great upset among many customers. - Place feels like a sinking ship. - culture has been eroded and so has the faith of many causing most to do little and take a pay check until the ship sinks. - impossible to recommend to anyone given the state of the business and the amount of people that disappear. -Constant layoffs creating a fear amongst people not knowing who and when will be next. -They replaced the CEO too late in my view and it’s hard to see the business making it through the end of next year. -certain people that have eroded the culture and quite frankly incredibly rude remained in the business due to favouritism from senior members that should have departed a long time ago. -Toxic environment. - zero job security. - most seem to think they work for google and have an ego as such and can’t quite seem to figure out the reality of the situation. - founders were axed and new ceo appointed but this may be too little, too late. - the best have long gone leaving very average-low people trying to use buckets to empty water off the sinking ship. -Plenty of great companies out there, including startups with great culture, people and amplitude unfortunately Beamery is not one of them.

      Pros

good benefits and industry par pay.

      Cons

I've spent a few years at the firm and over the time the company has had some serious change in their culture and direction. There is more chaos, less accountability and finger pointing at its peak in 2023. None of the leaders who make decisions are ever part of the layoff's. The handworkers are eventually pushed off a cliff. The product has some serious issues with customers eventually moving away, The directors and above who never addressed it were still not part of the layoff's which is a shame.

Thank you for your review. I’m really glad to hear that you had a positive experience with the culture and the people here – we’re proud of the team and the values we’ve built together. I understand the impact that repeated restructuring can have on morale and trust. These were not decisions we took lightly. Like many companies in a challenging economic climate, we’ve had to make some tough calls to ensure our long-term sustainability and ability to invest in what matters most. To enable the business to move towards profitability we did have to go through a difficult restructuring process twice in the past two years and I truly regret both the disruption and the challenging personal experience this has caused. Thank you again for being part of the journey – and I wish you all the best in what comes next. – Sultan Saidov, co-founder & CEO
