What are perks and other benefits like at BlueHalo?

Great work environment, great benefits, employee appreciation is best I've ever seen.

So far I have none.

Competitive salary, excellent benefits, innovative work, casual work attire, qualified coworkers.

Growing pains of a small company to a larger company with non-unified vision among middle management. Largely dependent on government contracts, would like to see more growth in the R&D space.

The company recently changed ownership and management, so now the money shortages might be less of an issue.

Recent management changes with the purchase are not going well so far. Local top management quit and fled after the purchase. Remaining top management is now preoccupied fitting in with the new owners so no-one is running local operations. The new owners are a big company so we have new security and procedures to deal with, but local operations and benefits are not being integrated into parent company for at-least a year, so any potential improvements are delayed. The local managers are not professional and there is a lot of political fighting among departments. The best way for a manager to look good here is to try to make other departments fail at their tasks. Project managers are ineffective. Many critical projects are late and understaffed while other people sit idle looking for work.

Vacation is difficult to use. Leadership is in constant flux, resulting in conflicting internal requirements

Compensation aside, the culture is fine if you like hands-off management. I often went months without even speaking to my company manager and years without a performance review. Benefits are good, but the employees have to raise a ruckus every couple years to keep them that way: the company tries to cut them every-so-often when they think no one is paying attention. If working, getting a paycheck, and going home is your thing, it's not a bad place.

Pay is significantly (~15-20%) below what other companies are offering for the same position/LCAT. If you've been with the company a few years, you can huff and threaten to leave and they'll probably give you a raise. Otherwise, expect nothing.

The salary is not competitive with industry standards. They seem to lowball candidates, which is never a sign of a good company. Management is more concerned with capturing new business than they are about taking care of their current employees. Management is also unprofessional. They blatantly brag that war is good for business. While everyone knows that ongoing conflicts are good for the pocketbooks of defense contractors, considering the fact that people are dying in said armed conflicts, they could show a little more tact. There are better companies out there that don’t talk out of both sides of their mouth re being an employee centric company. Their merger has left employee benefits and HR in disarray and raises are few and far between. I would not recommend this company to others.

I loved the people I worked with, benefits were really great and the work itself was satisfying

My salary was less than half someone in my position could make at another company, and I had to help out doing work for other positions regularly

A lot of growth opportunity for the patient career minded individual that is open to change and agility. Feedback is welcomed, expected, considered, and often directly impacts future leadership decisions. Entrepreneurial spirit is celebrated. You get to create your own adventure at BlueHalo. People are genuine, even the leadership teams and executives interact more like your next-door neighbors than power hungry know it all's. Benefits are competitive and everyone is welcomed.

Fast passed growth which includes a lot of acquisitions, new contract awards and change.

Rapidly Company growing - is that good or bad?

Too many acquisitions and mergers to fast. Management not spending enough effort to make these random companies into a cohesive unit. After a year we are still not on the same insurance and benefit packages. Promised salary reviews never happened. More mergers in process.
