What are perks and other benefits like at Canva?

      Great place to work

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great benefits and perks, hybrid working, great workplace and colleagues

      Cons

Limited career progression in certain functions

Exploited, underpaid, and disposable: contractors at Canva face pressure without recognition.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Creative tasks can be enjoyable despite the environment.

      Cons

If your goal is to work hard to climb within this company, forget it. Contractors fall straight into the trash bin of employment. There is a clear divide: a few privileged workers under Canva Global enjoy better pay and conditions, while anyone managed from Manila is stuck with frozen salaries, zero benefits, and no prospects. 24/7 availability expected, no work-life balance. Frozen salary with no raises. Zero benefits or perks: no leave, no holidays, nothing. Bonuses don’t exist, even after working non-stop to ‘save the day.’ No gratitude or recognition for extra effort. No career path, no chance for progression. Contractors are treated as easily replaceable. This is not just my case — it’s the reality across the entire contractor team.

      Politics and unnecessary AI push

      Pros

Great company culture, great employees, talented people, good benefits

      Cons

Too much internal politics and unnecessary shoving of AI down the throat

      Pros

So much benefits and the management is great

      Cons

None because they handle the interns very well!

      Good place to work

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Great culture, lot of benefits

      Cons

Quality of work and culture depending on which supergroup/team you belong

      Nice place to work

      Product manager
      Current employee
      Sydney
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Supportive culture, great colleagues, and strong emphasis on impact. You’re trusted to own problems and encouraged to experiment. Pay and benefits are competitive, and flexibility is better than most tech companies. There’s also genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion, not just lip service.

      Cons

Growth means complexity. Processes are increasing, and decision-making can be slower than it used to be. It’s not always clear how individual work ladders up to company-level strategy, especially in larger groups.

      Cons

Business product doesn't sell, unequal pay amongst hires

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The benefits are such a comfort from your traditional corporate work. You will feel the care that they set out for their employees. You will come to work without having to spend so much, and still look forward to the end of your work. CEO and higher ups also discourage hierarchy and treats you more as a friend rather than an employee.

      Cons

Improvement on the Customer Happiness team is much needed. Stuff like scheduling and management should be reviewed again. Growth internally is also not too big despite their encouragement. People tend to stay for years in their positions without getting the chance to change roles in different departments. Work was also non-stop for the 7.5 hours you make for our department.
