What is working from home like at Cisco?

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good benefits, work from home flexibility, paternal leave

      Cons

      Burnout, unrealistic deadlines, occasional layoffs

work from home or visit customer

      Customer delivery architect
      Current employee
      Tokyo
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

You can work from home almost 100% of time especially when your customer prefers online meeting rather than in-person.

      Cons

New joined member will be difficult to establish new connection unless he/she tries to connect to other people proactively because many people work from home.

      No room for growth

      Senior manager, marketing
      Current employee
      San Jose, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great benefits and work from home

      Cons

Absolutely zero path to becoming a director once you hit senior manager — be prepared to stay in the same role for the next decade or more. Too much politics. People are overworked and under appreciated. One of the worst places to work if you can’t navigate through all the crazy politics. Wrong people in the wrong roles.

      Great company

      Data science manager
      Current employee

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Cisco is known for its robust culture of innovation and professional development, offering employees opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies in networking, cloud, and cybersecurity. The company fosters a collaborative environment with extensive resources for learning and career advancement, as well as strong mentorship programs and a commitment to employee well-being. Many employees appreciate Cisco’s focus on work-life balance, flexible work arrangements, and inclusive culture, which can make it an appealing workplace for those seeking stability and growth in the tech industry.

      Cons

As a large, global corporation, Cisco’s size can sometimes mean that navigating internal processes and decision-making can be slow, with layers of bureaucracy that may delay project approvals or adaptability to change. This structure may feel limiting for employees who prefer a more agile, startup-like environment. Additionally, some teams can experience a high level of demand and fast-paced work, which may occasionally impact work-life balance depending on the project and department.
