      Pros

      Cons

There are some amazing people in DNV like in every company. But overall the Culture is very toxic, lots of drama, lack of leadership competence, untrained incompetent line managers, lack of leadership accountability, leaders blaming the team for all their flaws, lack or poor planning, poor or no diversity and inclusion, sometimes inappropriate comments at the workplace, lots of bullying, zero psychological safety

      Pros

      Hybrid working, compensation and benefits

      Cons

I experienced a toxic and discouraging work environment within the DNV SCPA from the first day. The leadership severely lacks essential management and interpersonal skills, leading to harassment, mobbing, and a hostile workplace atmosphere. It was the worst professional experience I have ever encountered in my career, with a culture unlike anything I've seen before. Employee turnover is alarmingly high, with approximately 10 people leaving in short span of time due to negative treatment - the team size was approx 30 heads max, deliberately poor performance ratings, and direct or indirect pressure to resign, or made redundant. All terminations are made ad hoc, suddenly line managers show up with HR taking away laptop and access cards on the spot without the chance to bid farewell. HR appears indifferent to employee grievances, and top management in Norway seems disconnected, overlooking these critical issues. There is a notable lack of professionalism—new hires receive no onboarding, training, or support, yet are often blamed for failures rather than coached toward improvement. The prevailing culture is one of blame, division, and fear rather than positivity, growth, and teamwork. Needless to mention that in a culture of fear and basic survival there was no such word as career growth. There were too many red flags from the start, avoid this company at all costs.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Global exposure through international projects, which provides valuable learning opportunities for career development. - Flexibility in work arrangements, including the option to work from home, which helps maintain work-life balance.

      Cons

      - Inconsistent leadership: While the supervisor, RN claimed to be open-minded and supportive, we often found communication lacking. There was a tendency to ask for our opinions without offering much direction or feedback, making problem-solving and brainstorming difficult. - Lack of recognition: Sometimes, we were asked by RN to take on additional tasks beyond our role, but our contributions weren't always acknowledged. For example, reports we prepared were submitted without crediting our work. - Micromanagement: There were instances where our work habits, such as setting our Teams status to "Do Not Disturb," were questioned by RN, even though this was necessary for us to focus on learning the role. She also raised concerns about our punctuality, even though the flexibility on working hours had been previously agreed upon. - Toxic behavior from management: At times, senior leader SD demonstrated behavior that created an uncomfortable environment. There were remarks made that felt discriminatory, particularly regarding gender, which we found concerning, such as he wasn't keen to hire female employees due to concerns over maternity leave and made inappropriate comments about men using umbrellas. - Lack of respect in communication: The open-office environment was often disrupted by SD shouting at colleagues over the phone, which created a tense atmosphere and showed a lack of respect for staff.
