      Typical Corporate Nonsense

      Senior project coordinator
      Current employee

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Remote work, good managers if you’re lucky, standard benefits, not a stressful job

      Cons

Below market pay, general disregard for lower level employees, no merit based promotions or increases, company wide meetings were c-suite execs tout record profits while simultaneously stating they can’t increase employee wages to keep up with cost of living increases

      Business Outlook

      Pros

It was my first full time job, they were very understanding about things I did or did not know. They helped me out the best they could, and I appreciated all they could help me with. I could have free drinks or snacks.

      Cons

I didn't have an in person manager until almost my one year mark in the job. I was the only staff on my floor who could help out with anything anyone couldve needed. I was not technically apart of the firm I worked for, and I felt very disrespected and unwanted. I was never informed of firm events until the very last second, and I had to set them all up myself. It got to the point where half the lawyers were weirded out that i was never invited or officially involved, as I did almost everything there from the mail to doing the dishes daily. For about five months out of the year and almost a half I was working there, there was a specific mail room operator who took hold of his specific tasks that I was doing before he arrived. He was fired, and all of his responsibilities were once more laid upon me, so I was essentially doing two full time jobs at once. No extra pay, no extra reward for doing it all, I was only told that "I'm awesome" for....being myself, and doing what I had to do! They never bothered to rehire anyone for that role again. Before the in person manager came, I had two managers (see: because I was not officially involved with the firm company) and they were both remote and across the country from where I was. The office manager, once again, wasn't even technically my manager, but she sure treated me like I was her staff. Only until she had an issues with me, then she wouldnt ever tell me what i've done wrong, instead she would communicate with my real manager who would then get back to me 2-how ever many business days later, could be weeks later, about my mistakes. It was all very infuriating, and the cherry on top: I was laid off. They told me my role was going to be dissolved, and that a receptionist was no longer needed. They laid me off in the middle of a work week, and it was 100 percent out of the blue. I have never been fired before, and I have been working since I was fifteen years old, doing all sorts of things. This really was so depressing, and I hope that they understood how valuable I was, and what kind of person they lost. I would do the dishes every single day, personal dishes that attorneys brought in. We would have a weekly lunch, and I was never invited to them, but I would have to prep the meals, clean up the conference rooms and everyone's messes that they would leave at the table. There was another company that was being housed on our floor, they were like an adjacent or sister company to the law firm, and i would take care of all of their reception duties (answering phone calls that were meant for them, setting up their appointments, setting up their meetings, etc). Overall I felt very patronized when I was slow to understand something, the old office manager was a mean old lady. They tried their best but their best was NOT good enough.

A Really, Really Bad Company w/ Terrible Pay

      Fast team member
      Former employee
      Philadelphia, PA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

-The law offices you work for treat you well -Sometimes free food from law offices -Direct teammates can be good workers

      Cons

-Worst management I've ever had. All remote. No regular check-ins, because Epiq doesn't care if their employees are having their on-the-job needs met. -Abysmal travel reimbursement. Epiq will expect you to routinely travel out of state then offer essentially zero travel reimbursement, which they are often very late reimbursing what meager amount they do reimburse you, too. -Terrible scheduling. The worst I've ever experienced. You generally don't find out where you are working until 9pm the night before and thus you are living in a constant state of uncertainty. -Very low pay. Worse than any other company on the market, despite them giving you a ton of responsibilities on the job. I ended up making more as a stock boy at Home Depot than I was at Epiq! -Zero upward trajectory. They say you can grow within the company, but give you zero resources to do so and without regular check-ins with management (who are all very distant and remote anyways), you will be trapped in a low paying, overworked position forever. -Horrendous raises. Last year, despite having super good reviews from all the firms I worked for, my annual raise was less than inflation. I was making less and less each year! -Lots of after hour scheduling. Expect to have zero work life balance with this job. No extra pay when they make you commute hours and hours out of state, either. -Extremely high fast member turnover. Because of the awful scheduling, low pay, bad hours, and other mentioned issues, fast members rarely stay at this company more than a few months. Quitting this job to go work for a firm directly was the best decision I have ever made. My pay went up over 50% for the exact same work and I am much happier without all the stressors from incompetent managers and scheduling. Avoid Epiq at all costs!!!

      Pros

      Cons

I found EPIQ to be lacking in many areas, there is no company culture, hardly know anything about senior leadership, the benefits are lacking, pay is low and rarely get raises. Overall there is no reason to stay at this company other then if you have no other options

      Pros

The reviews can be mindless. If there is one that isn't mindless then don't do it. It's not worth the low pay.

      Cons

This is low pay for a job that you can easily get other offers for. They also switched from weekly to biweekly.

Ultra-Corporate Atmosphere; Salary Employees Taken Advantage of

      Contracts administrator
      Former employee
      New York, NY
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great Pay, Allowed to work Fully Remote anywhere in the US, decent benefits, some opportunities for advancement internally dependent on the department.

      Cons

Ultra-corporate, cutthroat atmosphere, NOBODY is your friend. Supervisors on the other side of the world assigned to teams resulting in a 4-5 hour time difference - not very smart planning from upper management. Some managers are great while others are extremely anal and out to get you, depends on who you get in what department. Corporate layoffs eliminating jobs altogether with no option to return with zero warning is not uncommon for this multi-billion dollar global corporation. Be prepared to be chronically stressed to the max daily, unreasonable workloads and expectations, have ever-changing rules that are hard to track and follow. Salary employees are taken advantage of often working 70-80 hours a week without any additional compensation whatsoever. Sometimes upper management lies to get you to stay quiet, compliant and do what they want so they can continue to take advantage of you for as long as possible. For example, telling you that you will be rewarded and compensated for working 80 hours a week for 3 months straight, then when you ask about it they will gaslight you and tell you they never said that. Or management will tell you that you can have flexibility in your working hours but over a year later still have excuses as to why you can't start your work day an hour earlier if you're getting all of your work done and still making yourself available after-hours also. Even the good compensation is not worth the stress and destruction of health and well-being due to the working conditions/expectations/stressful environment. At the end of the day, if your job is affecting your health and life in a negative way constantly, no amount of money is worth it.
