Cons
Eurofins commonly hires young grads who don’t know their worth. It used to be very relaxed, which was nice for the low pay, but it became very micromanagey quickly. Group leaders are either great or terrible, and upper management will defend them, even when they’re in the wrong. Aggravating decisions are constantly scapegoated to the client or parent company (btw, other contractors and the client company aren’t nearly as stingy with rules).
They suppress contact with the client company so you can’t make meaningful connections and leave the company. It is impossible to get career development advice if you are not planning on staying with Eurofins.
Your desire to learn is how Eurofins takes advantage of you, making you learn too many assays or complicated assays too quickly, which makes new hires feel stressed.
Onboarding is very disorganized and boring.
They will keep squeezing you for all you’re worth without reasonable compensation. They want top-notch service with bottom of the barrel pay. Get in and get out.
