What are perks and other benefits like at Evernorth?

Supportive Colleagues: My peers were collaborative and supportive, creating a positive team dynamic and an enjoyable work environment. Company Benefits: The company offered a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, which contributed to a good work-life balance. Learning Opportunities: There were numerous opportunities for professional development through training programs and workshops.

Management Issues: Unfortunately, my manager isolated me, creating a hostile work environment. This significantly impacted my morale and productivity. Lack of Support from Leadership and HR: Despite raising concerns about the hostile behavior, leadership and Human Resources did not take adequate steps to address the issue, allowing the negative behavior to persist. Communication Gaps: There were frequent communication gaps between different departments and management levels, leading to confusion and inefficiency. Limited Career Advancement: While the job itself was engaging, the potential for career advancement was limited due to the lack of support and recognition from management.

Clicks and favoritism exist in specific departments, and instances of favoritism and cliques have been observed within particular departments.

Great work/life balance and company and team morale and incentives.

Benefits can be expensive and compensation could be better compared to other insurance companies.

It is exciting to watch the team grow. The atmosphere is very pleasant and we have a good diverse team, with flexible working being promoted. Good benefits and good pay.

I have not come across any cons right now

Good benefits, work/life balance. Great, talented, conscientious colleagues. Hybrid work.

Toxic culture.Lots of turnover .Very hierarchial, silo’d management. Too many managers leads to too much bureaucracy and chaos. No clear vision or strategy- and lots of flip flopping. Insular senior leaders more impressed with their titles than supporting the business. Shared service finance leaders do not demonstrate understanding of how the broader business works.Promotions based on favoritism rather than talent or skill. Toxic, bullying, hostile, gaslighting behavior is rampant. When reporting concerns about toxic senior leader to ( outsourced ) HR, response was “ Have you talked to your ( senior leader) about their bullying / lying behavior??”( that’s a new one- report disrespectful abusive bullying behavior in violation of company policy and get advised to confront the abuser) and an internal “investigator” ultimately concluded that concerns about lying, bullying, discriminatory behavior were unfounded because “…( the senior leader ) said so…”. … in spite of the documentation provided. HR is not your friend.

The benefits and pay are reasonable.

The larger healthcare companies such as Cigna/Evernorth are struggling on financials and Cigna/Evernorth is largely focused on reducing operating expenses by leveraging offshore talent. They have reduced their headcount by many thousands over the last couple of years and will continue to do so this year. This is not because they hired too much or that AI is solving all of their problems. I would not recommend taking an onshore opportunity here at this time, because there is no guarantee that job will last for long.

support staff is hit or miss

Ability to negotiate on hours during the week, remote work and for my direct supervisor, caring and compassionate.

Mid.to low salary compared to other companies, insurance benefits are expensive. At times, long hours are expected with no compensation.

Pay is good, decent benefits, management is good, co workers are helpful.

Unrealistic workload. Life work balance is lacking.

Laid off after 17 years by my manager who I trained and was my previous coworker. She admitted to me she was groomed for that job. They used to be great about promoting within and opportunities. Not anymore. AI came in. They have been reducing staff under the radar for months. They cut employee benefits more and more over the past few years.
