      Temps are very disposable

      Pros

Remote opportunities, independent, interesting clients, fast-paced work environment, lots of writing

      Cons

Worked here on a short contract when I was laid off out of the blue. I didn't see it coming because the only other person working on my team on the same case type suddenly departed the firm before I was laid off. I inherited all of their cases and my work load doubled. I received positive feedback overall. There is no overtime, though I often worked through lunch. There are no benefits or PTO for contract, and the pay is low for the workload, especially considering the lack of benefits. There is very little support or substantive training here leaving you to constantly have questions to ask. Felt like I was constantly walking on eggshells so I wouldn't ask too many. The firm is also a mess and I regularly asked for feedback and guidance on firm-specific processes because none of these are streamlined or standardized, and there are few templates and process flows. HR and attorneys try to act like they care about two-way feedback, but it's clear none of it is listened to. Never even met my direct report while working here and never really saw any of my colleagues faces during calls. It's a lonely job in which you will feel overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated. And if you're a temp, they'll make you aware of how disposable you are.
