Pros
12 hr shifts (if that’s your thing), usually good RNs to work with, autonomous especially with medications, no force backs, plenty of OT, always learning compared to being on an ambulance, wear any scrubs you want, decent pay, PTO adds up quickly
Cons
Not much room for advancement, some doctors look down on their staff, PTO isn’t approved for about two months, urgent care patients coming into the ED when they really shouldn’t unless they want an ED bill, if something urgent comes up in your personal life you’re responsible to find coverage, benefits are expensive, difficult to find trades
