Pros
Friyays in the summer Flexible start and finish Fruit in the office There are some lovely people here but a lot of them have also been made redundant.
Cons
Morale - morale here is at rock bottom. There have been so many rounds of redundancies that people are constantly reeling from the last round of changes. For me, I have lost all the colleagues I used to work with, I barely know anyone in the office anymore. Management - I’ve worked out that I’ve had on average 2 managers a year since I started working here and none of them have actually been able to manage! I’ve had micromanagers, unprofessional managers and managers who do nothing. This brings me on to my next issue. Training and development - there are no training or development opportunities here. I have never been allowed to attend one course apart from LinkedIn learning, which is a complete waste of time. Managers are sent on internal courses which don’t seem to train them to do anything. Salaries - GWI is an appalling payer, salaries are very low here! Despite all the cost saving I am seeing the company doing, the employees are getting none of the benefits. Issues with the Athens office - there have been consistent complaints of how women are treated by the Athens office, I have seen this play out myself and it’s not ok, yet nothing has been addressed. Changes in strategy, direction, and senior leadership - I can’t keep up tbh. Senior leadership don’t seem to stay longer than 18 months… they also start, make recruitment decisions, people are hired. 6 months later the senior leader leaves and then people who were hired are made redundant!
