What is working from home like at GWI?

      Pros

After an influx of really negative one star reviews, I think it's important to fairly review the positives of working at GWI: - True flexibility (including early finish on Fridays, and half day Fridays in the Summer) - Generous bonus - Annual pay review for all employees - Fantastic parental leave policies - WFH first culture (office attendance is expected 2/3 days a week but rarely enforced) - Brilliant people - Office dog days - Free breakfast and snacks in the office - WFH budget - Generous health insurance plans

      Cons

Despite the positives, there is no smoke without fire. As others have posted, the negatives are sadly a lot more severe than the things listed above: - Repeated layoffs/redundancies (approx every 6 months) - Frequent restructures and shifting strategies - Loss of trust in Senior Leadership - Poor communication around major changes - Perceived disconnect between ELT messaging and employee reality - Reduced psychological safety and job security (those safe in April are just sat waiting to see their fait come October!) - Concerns that AI investment and leadership priorities are being communicated badly to the business... And the most unsettling part of it all, if you flag any of this or seem "against the business", then you're labelled a "detractor" and are immediately managed out, put on a PIP, or made redundant. They do not want us to "Ask Why".

      Constant change and poor leadership

      Pros

Flexible working set ups (wfh, flex hours), good PTO, summer Fridays

      Cons

This used to be an amazing place to work, but the various layoffs and reorganizations in the past couple of years have been handled poorly and often dont make sense nor improve working conditions. Communication around changes is poor and it seems the company/senior leadership no longer values its employees. The company doesn’t live up to its core value of show respect. Motivation is low because there’s no sense of job security even for long-tenured and high performing employees. It used to feel like senior leaders genuinely cared about employees and appreciated us but lately it feels like we’re just viewed as cogs in a machine.

No trust, no stability, no soul

      Pros

      - Flexible working arrangements can be genuinely helpful. - Friyays if you’re in a team that has the capacity to actually make use of them - Fruit, drinks and snacks in the office are a nice perk.

      Cons

      - There is constant strategic change, often driven by short-term reactions rather than clear long-term thinking. This repeatedly disrupts momentum and makes it hard for teams to build meaningful, lasting work. - Decisions are often made by the executive leadership team with little visible understanding of what individual teams actually do or the value they bring. - There has been repeated messaging that AI is there to support roles, but in practice it increasingly feels tied to headcount reduction. That gap between messaging and reality damages trust. - Pay rises are poor and progression can feel limited, even for people consistently going above and beyond. Taking on the workload of two roles is often framed as “growth” rather than recognised or rewarded properly. - The culture feels increasingly soulless. There are frequent redundancies, often feeling like a regular cycle rather than an exceptional measure. - Employees are expected to embody values such as ‘show respect’, but that same respect does not always feel reflected back in how people are treated during organisational change. - There is a perception that visibility and personal relationships with senior leadership matter more than merit when it comes to opportunities and job security. - What once made GWI an exciting place to join feels like it has gradually disappeared. - After rounds of redundancies, workloads often become unrealistic, with fewer people expected to deliver the same output. This creates stress without corresponding reward. - Compensation feels below market rate considering the level of responsibility, pressure, and expectations placed on employees. - It can feel as though strong business performance does not translate into security or recognition for employees. Instead, restructures, role changes, and uncertainty often follow.
