How are career development opportunities at Health Care Service Corporation?

Lots of growth opportunities, overall friendly work environment, good work/life balance, benefits are fairly comparable to other insurance companies.

Company is heavily pushing RTO at this time, salary increases can be moderate without special exceptions, company has your typical corporate "red tape" with policies and procedures--not necessarily a con just setting an expectation.

Opportunity for advancement, quality management, ample career paths and departments to grow and learn within, positive company culture, charitable, fulfilling work, good benefits.

Large candidate pool when applying and moving around internally, PTO accumulation for newer employees could be better.

Plenty of training and people who are willing to help, Great hours, Holidays and weekends off, fair pay, Great work life balance, and a great career path.

Some repetitive tasks, but all jobs have that.

Leaders empower their employees to shape their work and create opportunities for employees to try new things. Good recognition programs and benefits including a pension. Strong leadership and commitment to employee satisfaction.

There can be some barriers to execution and processes tend to move slow.

Decent enters level pay and hybrid work opportunities

Benefits have been shrinking as of late, less the ideal career advancement opportunities outside of IL or TX

Large company that has many changes in leadership/structure. Can feel a bit unsettled at times.

Fantastic culture, responsive and supportive management, supportive and encouraging co-workers and they care about your family life in a multitude of ways! There are a lot of opportunities for personal growth and career development and I love that there are courses you can take within the company to do so.

Occasionally micromanagement can be an issue.

Struggling to name one besides my immediate colleagues.

Poor benefits, low 401k match, abysmal PTO to very little carryover (16 hrs!). No opportunities for professional development, can’t move or be promoted if you’re not living in one of their core 5 states and near the office, HR/work accommodations are unethical. Archaic IT infrastructures with zero IT support. I don’t understand how anyone stays.

Nice work environment with supportive colleagues and a positive culture. Maintains a solid work-life balance, making it a comfortable place to work. Great place especially for those who are new in their career and looking to build foundational skills.

Limited career advancement opportunities, growth feels stagnant. Management is generally unreceptive to employee input, and your role can feel fixed, with little room for learning, creativity or questions. The work often becomes repetitive, with expectations to follow instructions without much engagement.
