Pros
The Chatham staff who work tirelessly for this company (those beneath the Grade C's) stand out as some of the most capable and compassionate people I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
They have some excellent benefits for parents, carers and holiday perks
Cons
Having been working for this company for several years, it has been disheartening to watch it lose it's way and the people it has removed. The company once prided itself on its strong culture and the respect it showed to it's staff, but this seems to have been forgotten in recent years. The decision to push through redundancies on a large scale, only to funnel funds into a new IT system that has spiralled out of control in terms of budget, reflects a fundamental shift in priorities.
While it’s understandable that businesses need to evolve, the manner in which these changes are being executed—often at the expense of loyal employees—has left a bitter taste for many. Long-serving staff, who have demonstrated incredible commitment, experience, and work ethic, have been pushed out in favour of cost cutting and short-term goals.
The Directors and Executives, are out of touch with the day-to-day realities of employee morale and well-being. They talk about valuing their staff, but their actions do not align with these words, they do not live the "Values". The lack of respect and care for the employees (Senior Managers and Operational staff across the company) who have been the backbone of the company for years is glaring.
The disconnect between executive leadership and staff has become increasingly apparent. The company has lost sight of the core values that made it a great place to work, and the current approach leaves much to be desired, taking on Senior Execs from larger corporates who have culled the people they have no real knowledge of their talents is a disgrace. It is clear that the focus has shifted to purely financial goals of it's shareholders at the cost of employee satisfaction and loyalty. Shameful.
