There is also a strong focus on employee welfare across both field and office based roles. The benefits package is excellent, including shopping discounts and unique perks such as free festival events, which help create a positive culture. There is a clear commitment to both physical and mental wellbeing, and management is generally very supportive. I feel comfortable approaching my manager with personal challenges and confident that I will be listened to and supported.

There is a fair amount of change within the business, which can sometimes feel fast paced or uncertain. However, this is understandable given the company is still relatively new and growing.

Colleagues are super friendly and management is fantastic, you are treated as individual people and spoken to as equals. The company invests in you as an individual and works with your strengths. Great company culture. Good pay and great benefits, you really do get looked after.

I am yet to discover a single downside.

Lots of benefits, tools and van are provided for you, manager looks after you if you have one of the good ones

Poor communication a lot of the time between people in the office and people on site, creating lots of problems for the engineers installing the heat pumps. Way too many changes within the company around team structure and working areas. Travel time for jobs is almost always 50mins+ even when theres jobs close to your house. Higher up managers a lot of the time just tell you what you want to hear instead of telling you how it really is.

When a company says "work/life balance is important" it usually means you might get the odd yoga class discount or something like that. But Octopus GENUINELY practices what it preaches, and it is soooo refreshing. There are so many benefits, events in the offices, massage appointments, fresh food, emphasis on family time, unlimited leave, breathwork sessions, free yoga classes, festival tickets... it's so nice to feel valued and appreciated for working hard.
