Pros
You'll get to work with great customers and vendors (all of which make more than you)
Maybe maybe maybe a desperation job or a career pivot, if you can afford it.
Cons
- As I mentioned, very low base pay. We were told "get a roommate" from the head of HR during an onboarding session addressing living in a high-COLA.
- They also will cap your bonus, which is tied to your low pay. I carried a 18mil book of business, was top 1% in the company and made less than 60k that year.
- Management is streaky. Had some great local branch managers, but leadership had little to no idea what value-based, relational, or challenger model sales practices meant and love to meddle.
- No modern sales tools, they use a nerfed M365 CRM and you can't pull any helpful sales activity on your book/clients/targets.
- The old C-Suite will tell you in your first month "this is a nickel and dime industry." Just remember it applies to you.
-I left and immediately tripled my salary.
