Extended Delays and Poor Candidate Communication

      Pros

      There are none to report.

      Cons

My experience with Peraton’s hiring process was deeply disappointing and, unfortunately, reflected very poor communication practices. I received an offer in October for a position supporting a newly awarded FAA contract supporting their new Air Traffic Control System and was initially told that I would receive a start date in December. When December arrived, I was informed that the timeline had shifted to January. This same message continued each month, with repeated assurances that the position was still moving forward and that I simply needed to remain patient. Over the course of nearly six months, I completed all requested pre-employment steps, including the background check, and made multiple attempts to obtain meaningful updates through email. Most of those requests were met with little to no response, and the limited communication I did receive provided no real clarity beyond another delayed timeline. After being consistently led to believe the role was still active, I was ultimately contacted and informed that my offer had been rescinded due to changing business needs. While I understand that contracts and staffing requirements can change, waiting six months with minimal transparency only to have the offer withdrawn is unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of respect for candidates’ time and career planning. I was very excited about this next phase of my career, as well as the opportunity to support this new contract. But after this ordeal, I quite frankly do not recommend anyone to seek employment here.

      Pros

Pay was fair, hiring process was smooth

      Cons

Onboarding was non existent, the coworkers there knew absolutely nothing, management ensured their friends could slack off, yet others were given the entire workload for multiple persons. Lied on flex hours in hiring process. Not disability friendly.

      Pros

None at the moment I can honestly think of.

      Cons

Company is transparent as a brick. Everything was disclosed at the last minute at the expense of its employees. I was employed a one salary and within 3 months was required to take a 45% cut in the salary. The company knew at the time of hiring that this was going to happen but hooked everyone to bring up staffing to customer requirements at the beginning of the contract.

Peraton is a stable very well managed professional company

      Technical project management professional

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Stable management of long-time professional leaders with a vision of the future supporting hiring of a diverse and talented labor force. Compensation and benefits are very well designed to assist everyone's personal situation and compliment their needs. Despite of the impressive size of the company management is still family oriented and supports those values. It also encourages growth and enables opportunities in continued education. Culture and Values presented are a great example and motivatvation to recommend it as the place to work for.

      Cons

In 5+ years I have not encountered a downside being a part of the Peraton family.

Definitely Do Not Recommend This Company

      Pros

Recruiter was very professional and HR representative was receptive to my feedback as part of outprocessing.

      Cons

      1) Assigned manager who contacted me for an annual performance review at only approximately eight weeks on the job. 2) TTO Lead who did not sufficiently address subcontractor with history of issues with other employees for approximately three years. 3) Same TTO Lead did not feel the need to get involved despite several notifications of my work being impeded. Apparently, he did not feel conflict resolution was necessary as part of his position to manage the persons working the TTO. 4) Witnessed subcontractor loudly cussing at other individuals in the Government space at other individuals while working on the same TTO. At the time of my departure, he was still employed on the same TTO. 5) Very cliquish environment where not everyone felt valued.
