everything else. The working culture was bad, drama all the time. I was part-time but working full-time hours without the corrected pay, benefits, and title. Would be rare for someone to work there longer than a week - we eventually had no manager looking over and things went downhill fast.

Base Pay is ridiculously LOW, like not a liveable wage low, especially for the amount of work they expect you to do. Its SO loud, everyday. You kinda learn to tune it out but some pets really strike a nerve. Youre cleaning up a LOT of urine and feces daily, all day. Dog Bites do happen even when your careful. Dogs are in a high stress environment and it makes them a little on edge. Same with cats, injuries can and will happen. Management can be very hands off when it comes to daily operations of the resort.

The benefits were alright. You do have to work full-time, which I suppose is standard. Flexible work hours, but you MUST be available for weekends or else management gets mad.

Poor management. Management was never consistent and make up SOPs off the fly, instead of following protocols by the handbook. Too many guest to employee ratio. You're at a risk for injuries and bites. You will be overworked if you're reliable. They also might try to con you out if your vacation hours.

Compensation & benefits package were good for management

2 manager job, but they will take your second manager to manage another location and not replace them, leaving you a solo manager. Literally on-call 24/7, never have time off. Revolving door of employees because the work is HARD but the hourly pay is absolute garbage. Budgets are ridiculous and impossible to meet, making it impossible to get a bonus.

Benefits, consistent schedule, some coworkers were kind.

Management didn’t know anything about dog grooming and would book you like crazy to make profit. The most dogs I groomed in a day was 36 while working there. They got upset when I asked to go down to 8 dogs a day. You were used and abused with no empathy.

Benefits are OK. The direct team is good and try their best for regulars. Being NVA owned allows for career jumps to other animal care sectors.

Management is definitely the biggest downside. Definitely regularly understaffed and facing burn out. Some daily tasks are not accouted in the labor band.

To reduce cost upper management cuts an unrealistic amount of labor resulting in staff + operation management burn out and high turn over. Most facilities constantly battle with being understaffed and unmotivated employees. Salaried managers are expected to work over time. Pet care suffers because of the high turn over and staff being inexperienced (short tenure, revolving door of staff). There are often not enough staff to properly and safely care for the pets. Low pay also contributes to lack of employee motivation. The design of the daycare play yards are not well thought out. For example operations is expected to sell solo play times for dogs but there isn't enough play yards to handle the load. Upper management tells managers to lie to clients and reduce the amount of time the playtimes last, without disclosing to clients.
