Very easy work - all the data entry side of managing mailboxes is simple and self explanatory, as is the POS and Shipping systems (postal and cashmate) Slow days, plenty of time to catch up on your book backlog when store chores are done.

Low pay, no benefits for full-time, managers that are somehow both micromanagers and absent/indifferent. Awful, entitled customers. Poor quality of training.

Having regulars you get to build relationships with, it makes for a fun work experience Learned different skills like fingerprinting and notary services
