What are perks and other benefits like at Punch Bowl Social?

They offer relatively fair pay.

There is a lot of preferential treatment. They prefer to give hours to illegal immigrants and yes men, rather than people that actually do a good job. Also, only managers are considered full time employees so that they can avoid offering benefits to their work staff!

The people I work with are great! The restaurant is high volume and a fun atmosphere!

No benefits and spring and fall are slow.

Some coworkers were great people to work alongside. Never worked more than 55 hours a week.

Constantly tasked with responsibilities far outside the role (fixing broken bowling lanes, admin work unrelated to position). New processes were implemented without considering ground operations, for example checklists requiring photo submissions of floors that created a culture of micromanagement rather than trust. Nearly every other day, something changed whether it was a new system in place or a new marketing promotion not communicated. Minimal employee benefits and little incentive to stay long-term.

Its a job I guess.

Company has zero direction. People are making decisions for departments that they have no business in. If you like drama at the upper echelons, this is the place to be. There is zero culture as everyone is trying to step over everyone else to get to where they want to be. Corporate runs on a typical 9-5 M-F schedule, but operations is expected to be nights and weekends AND also at the beck and call of corporate. Restaurants are notorious for bad healthcare and benefits, but Punch Bowl has the worse that I've ever seen. You're better off buying from the Healthcare Marketplace. Most, if not all of corporate are unresponsive to emails and yet when they ask a question, you're expected to answer within the hour. They are bleeding money because certain departments are basically given a blank check to run, and yet the most important parts of hospitality are scrutinized to the minute. People are given preferential treatment if you know who to kiss up to. Work life balance is great if you're in the upper tiers of corporate. Anything else, you're basically going to be working 24/7.
