Toxic Work Culture with No Real Growth

      Sde
      Former employee
      Noida
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Only the offsite events and parties.

      Cons

Working at SaaS Labs was one of the most disappointing experiences in my career. The company operates under a toxic culture dominated by favoritism and dictatorship-style management. Promotions, recognition, and even day-to-day decisions depend less on performance and more on proximity to the CEO’s office or select individuals. There is no structured learning or growth path, and employees who genuinely work hard often find themselves ignored, while those favored by leadership get all opportunities. The HR team also fails to act fairly or transparently, which makes the environment even more demotivating. The lack of a proper promotion process, no merit-based recognition, and an overall culture of bias make it extremely frustrating for anyone who values career growth, fairness, and professionalism. The only positive worth mentioning is the offsite, which was well-organized. Beyond that, the work culture is unhealthy and not recommended for those looking for genuine career development. Toxic culture, favoritism, dictatorship, no fair HR practices, no structured learning, no growth, unfair promotions.

Ownership exists, but favoritism and poor leadership are destroying the company

      Software engineer
      Former employee
      Noida
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      • You do get a lot of ownership and independence while working on projects. • Good opportunity to take charge of responsibilities early in your career.

      Cons

      • Teams lack understanding of the product as a whole, which creates silos and inefficiency. • Many engineering managers hold positions without the knowledge or ability to actually lead. These roles often feel undeserved. • A toxic culture of favoritism dominates. If you’re not in the good books of a manager, your career growth is blocked and, in many cases, your job is at risk. Hard work and talent don’t matter as much as being someone’s favorite. • Leadership, including the CEO’s office, lacks vision and direction. Instead of calculated and strategic decisions, the company is run on a hit-and-try approach. Leaders appear to be experimenting without clarity, hoping something works out, which only pushes the company further off-track. • This has created a culture of insecurity where employees feel undervalued and uncertain about their future in the company.

No Growth Opportunities, Lack of Vision

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great learning opportunity about the SaaS market, Salary on time

      Cons

-No Growth Opportunities: If you're considering joining the sales team, be prepared to stay in the same position for a long time as there's no clear path for advancement. -Lack of Vision: The company lacks a defined roadmap or plans for growth, making it challenging to see long-term potential. -Unclear Communication: Responses from leadership are often vague and diplomatic, leaving team members without clarity or direction. -Blame Culture: Other teams frequently gang up on the sales team to shift blame, and when any good work is accomplished, they are quick to take credit—even when they have no involvement or understanding of the efforts.

      Pros

Culture is good. Pay is at par with industry standards for SDRs if not low. No micromanagement by immediate manager. Product is good and functional but design could be better. The company is Sustainably growing. No layoffs yet.

      Cons

There isn't much career growth. They believe in hiring externally than promoting and giving more opportunities to existing talent. 3 days a week wfo.

      Not worth it

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Some good people to work with. It could also be good if you want to expand your international experience with managing teams or customers.

      Cons

The leadership dynamics at this company (i.e., company politics), could have greatly benefited from enhanced clarity and stronger teamwork. It often felt like the drive for personal recognition outshone the pursuit of collective success, making collaboration across various teams quite challenging. Achieving set goals or completing assigned projects rarely led to acknowledgment. More often than not, contributions were downplayed, dismissed as inadequate, or attributed to other factors. This tendency to overlook team and individual efforts was demoralizing. A significant focus on "what have you done for me lately?" overshadowed previous accomplishments, rendering yesterday's achievements irrelevant. This was especially frustrating when those efforts were precisely what had been requested and aligned with the roles for which we were hired. This approach was disheartening and resonated throughout the entire team. Communication issues started at the top and complicated effective execution. When directives were unclear or strategic decisions affecting the company were made in isolation—without involving or informing those directly impacted, who presumably were hired to contribute to such decisions—it left many feeling sidelined. These decisions were usually not communicated to the team, resulting in more confusion. For anyone who is considering a leadership role within this company, insist on having every detail, every task, goal, and responsibility, including explicitly the reporting structure within the team written out and signed off on. This will be essential for navigating the company's environment and ensuring that contributions will be recognized and valued.

Stressful environment with poor management practices

      Software development engineer (sde)
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Only offsite which happens once a year

      Cons

Management style is micro-managing and often disrespectful. Frequent unnecessary grilling sessions rather than growth opportunities. Lack of stability layoffs can happen suddenly, creating constant insecurity. Constructive feedback is rare; taunts and negativity are more common. Little regard for employee mental well-being.
