Semrush is constantly changing, which provides lots of opportunities to try new things and grow.

I've been at the company for over a year and have seen no COLA or raises, despite being promised raises every 6 months when I was hired. Upward mobility is also extremely team dependent, and not guaranteed.

Many employees have seen their compensation decrease despite strong performance.

The company is still very Eastern European-minded in its values, and has only recently tried to bring in a global perspective. Communications from your managers (depending on the department) probably will be harsh. There is no tolerance for mistakes, no matter how small. It's a huge failure of leadership. There's management that's openly horrible to their employees and nothing is done about it. - No tolerance for mistakes - Bad management techniques - No support for career advancement. Figure it out - After year 1, your support system vanishes - you're on your own and you can't mess up - Weird cliques where some teams hate other teams for no good reason, and complain about each other instead of collaborate.

Semrush has a cozy and friendly atmosphere rooted in its culture, and is all about people. I would genuinely love to work with most of my colleagues again in the future. Semrush had kept its horizontal structure, and distinct transparent and innovative culture long after growing out of a startup. Proud to be part of the team that has built so many cool products.

The fast-paced environment from the "Pros" above went hand in hand with chaotic processes. As a solution, layers of middle/senior management were added. This isolated communication in vertical management silos, and blocked career opportunities for long-term employees. I know too many people who quit because of that. I would recommend Semrush as a great place to work, if not for the uncertainty of an upcoming acquisition.

The company also offers excellent work-life balance through flexible working hours, unlimited paid time off, and well-designed offices in multiple locations.

While the compensation is fair and generally aligns with industry averages, it may not be considered highly competitive. Additionally, the absence of a bonus program presents an opportunity to strengthen the overall compensation and recognition framework further.
