What is the company culture at Sennder?

      Sennder reviews

      Great work environment

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Sennder is a great employer. The work life balance and culture are superb. Lots of learning opportunities and a modern tech stack.

      Cons

A lot of migrations driven by leadership decisions without any regard for the impact on engineers. Quarter plannings get completely overturned because urgent migrations constantly come out of nowhere. From Jira to ADO(Microsoft equivalent), Django to FastAPI, Salesforce to in house.

      Pros

Great culture, Strong will deliver value, leadership determination, team spirit, and a very strong idea to improve the industry

      Cons

As in many startups and companies that want to improve, sometimes active structural changes for the best of the company.

      Fake and biased culture

      Pros

If you are unemployed and desperate you can work at sennder till your better next step

      Cons

The company's culture shows unfair treatment towards people who aren't from Europe or America. Your ideas and work might get taken without giving you credit, and you won't get recognized for your efforts. If the satisfaction survey results aren't good, you might face harassment. It feels like the company is fake, using things like summer camps to get people excited and asking them to fill out surveys to make it look like everyone's happy. There's also a problem with planning, as they keep changing your job because they keep changing how things are organized

      Pros

Great company culture and sense of togetherness. Executive team is approachable and cares about their people. The company is ever evolving, providing growth opportunities for those reaching for them. The logistics industry is looking at radical change and sennder is at the forefront of it. With the recent acquisition of a 700 people strong company, it certainly will be an interesting year ahead.

      Cons

The only constant is change at sennder and everyone working here has to be okay with that. There are a lot o structures that need to be build but that's the journey of a scale-up. sennder definitely is heading in the right direction.

Interesting business area but a lot of toxic leadership

      Senior director engineering
      Current employee
      Berlin
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

A dynamic and vibrant company culture driven by a bold mission to disrupt an entire industry. The team embraces innovation wholeheartedly, demonstrating a willingness to rethink and reshape everything they know about the business to achieve their vision.

      Cons

This organization faces significant challenges due to a deeply political culture marked by inefficiencies, favoritism, and a reliance on personal relationships. Transparency is sorely lacking, and the leadership demonstrates a strikingly low level of technological proficiency. Many in leadership roles lack basic coding knowledge or an understanding of how a tech organization should operate, leading to questionable and often toxic technical and product leadership. The promoted culture exacerbates these issues, hindering innovation and growth. The current product reflects these shortcomings—it's rarely utilized by the business and is devoid of scalability. Overall, the environment raises serious concerns for anyone seeking a strong, tech-driven workplace.

      Pros

I really liked the vision of sennder. The founder made an energetic impression on me at first

      Cons

The expectations placed on employees are nothing short of extreme. Even if you’re a high-performing, Type A individual who consistently delivers, the company has no issue wringing every ounce of value from you and then discarding you without a second thought. It's not about rewarding excellence—it’s about extracting as much as possible for as long as they can. There’s no loyalty, no recognition, just relentless pressure. Churn is absolutely rampant in some roles. To give you a sense of how unstable things are: there were four different people in the same position over a span of just 400 days. That’s barely three months per person. It’s a revolving door, and not because the talent wasn’t good enough—it’s because the environment is toxic and unsustainable. You also cannot rely on any form of stable leadership. The manager who interviews you or promises you support and direction might not even be around by the time you join. Leadership turnover is high, not just among junior staff, but even among experienced managers who simply burn out or give up after being unable to cope with the dysfunctional Directors and C-Level management. To make matters worse, the business itself is not performing well, and that underperformance trickles down in the form of more stress, tighter deadlines, and completely unrealistic demands. Instead of rallying people or finding solutions, leadership responds by doubling down—squeezing even more out of employees who are already stretched to the breaking point. There’s a deep lack of basic human decency and empathy at the core of how this company treats people. You’re not seen as a person—you’re seen as a resource, a means to an end. Once you’ve outlived your usefulness, or dare to speak up, they’ll push you out without hesitation. It’s a brutal, demoralizing culture that values control and output over well-being or respect.

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The only positive aspect of working here is the supportive and cooperative team, which helps make daily work more bearable.

      Cons

The company silently let go of a number of employees without good communication and transparency. The way it was handled made it clear that job security is not a priority for management, and employees are kept in the dark until decisions are already made.

They changed the only good thing that was the culture, now it is no longer good.

      Cons

The targets are not realistic, nor have they been in 2023. They seem to be far from the reality of the logistics market

      Cons

Having such an accelerated growth not all procedures are in place and some things are changing fast. You have to adapt quickly and deal with a high level of ambiguity which can be stressful.
