Pros
-Mailroom coworkers are sweet and ethical
-Managers inside the mailroom with us were real people, everyone else in management saw us as "the poors", and were phobic of us
Cons
- Do you ever get sick or like to get raises you were promised? Well then unfortunately, this is not the company for you!
-Management does not see you as human
-Policy where you have to give a weeks notice for any days off including any sick days and days off for emergencies. Even the companies top employees were stressing about getting fired for taking necessary sick time off. EVERYONE was getting strikes in the strike system left and right.
-This has been the only employer I've ever had to deny me accommodations for chronic conditions causing me pain and fatigue. I requested 2 days of unpaid time off a month to be used as needed for flare ups. After 46 days of "thinking about it" they finally denied my request, stating it was an undue hardship on the company. I should also state that any work you missed on a day here or there could absolutely be made up the next day. This job is not that intense, but management ran around like their hair was on fire if anybody ever needed to call in. And look at the consequences of taking a sick day- literally nothing, your work can be easily caught up the next day. No part of the job falls apart if you were sick for a day. They also failed to cross-train anyone, so some people if they quit, would literally be the only person with the knowledge on how to do their job. This company is so poorly run there are a couple of people that have become integral to the company and they are not having those people train others to do their work if they ever need a day off. If Brenda left, the entire company would crumble.
-HR literally ghosted me repeatedly when I asked questions about why I couldn't be accommodated as this has NEVER happened at previous workplaces. They just started ignoring my emails and calls completely because they didn't have a good answer for me. They lawyered up and told me to take it up with their lawyer. I literally had to quit, I was squeezed out of this job due to my disabilities not being accommodated.
- Benefits are bad, nobody was on them
- Meetings with management about a raise I was promised were repeatedly "forgotten". I never got it by the way.
- Extremely poor communication by management. Multiple re-sends of routine emails correcting numerous errors, never getting back to people who rightfully had questions, cancelling meetings last minute with no explanation.
- New CEO Shashi Yadiki sucks. Policy after policy was implemented after he started at the company that were focused on taking away work life balance or anything that made us feel human.
