Decent pay and work life balance but will never promote or give raise

      Pros

Really friendly people, work moves slow so you can have a great work/life balance, WFH is very flexible, benefits and bonus are pretty great

      Cons

Even if you ask, you will never get a raise or job grade bump. The only way is to apply for another job within the company (switch teams) or to leave for a few years and come back. I thought I was paid really well until I left. Can be boring at times for a designer - very monotonous and ticket-taking type assignments. Lots of page layout wireframing or building in Adobe EM, rarely designing something new. Not much transparency when announcements are coming, portions of company are being sold, and layoffs can be sudden.

Need to work on culture, internal career growth

      Pros

There are some really great people within the organization that have a wealth of knowledge to share and really support you in your professional growth. Good pay, benefits, and depending on the team and those leading the I think there can be a good work life balance.

      Cons

Toxic leaders can be found throughout the departments. Spinoff pressures have only made that toxicity spread and create a fear culture where no and boundaries (tasks way outside scope of your position) cease to exist. Largest issue present is individual team members often lead things and the managers have zero accountability. Growth even for those team leads is impossible because you’re too valuable to promote. This supports a culture of do nothing and your promotable versus lead various engagements carry the weight of those not doing the job and keep doing that for 20+ yrs. Also, I did indicate the salary is good but the performance review process and the goes above and beyond rating is a sick joke. You could be the best and be phenomenal but you won’t get promoted for 3 years and you can’t skip job grades even when your performing usually 2 grades above.

      Pros

One advantage of working at Solventum in Costa Rica is the opportunity to gain experience in a multinational healthcare company, working with global teams and advanced processes. The company also offers competitive compensation and benefits compared with similar companies, which can support employees’ financial and personal well-being.

      Cons

One potential drawback is that, as a relatively new company created after the healthcare spin-off from 3M, some internal processes and organizational structures are still evolving, which can sometimes create uncertainty or operational challenges during the transition period

      Pros

Growing medical company with a lot of opportunities for growth and development and advancement. Good benefits, great pay, and job security if you’re a responsible hardworking employee. Currently expanding the facility with 200,000 feet of new manufacturing space and also expanding the warehouse and more with future expansion already planned. Great opportunity to build a great career for yourself.

      Cons

Rotating shifts. 12 hour shifts. Repetitive motion. Poor communication ( currently being addressed and improved) A lot of change and mixed communication as they transition from 3M life , policies, and culture to Solventum. Positive changes and growth are coming down the pipeline, it’s just a big change all at once as they form their new business and culture.

      Good benefits, constant restructuring

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good benefits and remote work across the company. Good for someone that wants a fair amount of work life balance and isn’t driven to move up consistently. People mostly make lateral moves professionally. Consistent increases in pay.

      Cons

Lots of restructuring of roles and annual layoffs. There were a lot of inherent problems in the corporate structure, lack of clarity of decision-making and role responsibility, lots of being thrown under the bus, and extremely cliquey with the international teams..

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      Great vacation, benefits, work flexibility

      Cons

Everyone has a selling price tag. People are told they are valued. That they think with heart but really have their heart in their wallet. Continously changing, reorganizing, and expecting continuous resilience post spin. Honesty is only fit for those in the inner circle. Smooth talking management persuades you to work hard only to turn around and dismantle your work/position

      Pros

Good benefits and fully remote work opportunities

      Cons

It's a very challenging time to be an employee of this company. With the recent spinoff, there is a constant overwhelm of work and nowhere near enough people to complete what needs to be done (1 person doing the work of 4+ is typical). There is an unsustainable pace of change and stress which has been ongoing for over a year.

      2

Still chaotic after the spin off

      Product marketing manager

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Very flexible and remote friendly, friendly people, Pay and benefits are great and definitely comparable to industry average

      Cons

Not much opportunity for growth/upward movement, limited resources for personal development, yearly budget cuts to marketing and travel budgets while leadership goes to international tradeshows and trips around the world to HQs, lots of finger pointing without anyone actually doing anything or making decisions. Lots of ambiguity still after the spin off and recent layoffs, which results in many of us not being able to do our jobs
