What are perks and other benefits like at TikTok?

      TikTok reviews

Great company to help you grow but poor leadership

      Category manager
      Former employee
      Los Angeles, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Pros of TikTok: Smart Colleagues: The company attracts top-tier talent, which means you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest minds in tech and media. Lots of Room to Learn: TikTok's rapid growth and cutting-edge technology create a fast-paced environment where you can quickly develop new skills, take on new challenges, and expand your knowledge base. Great Benefits: The company provides strong benefits packages, including health insurance, paid time off, and potentially stock options or other perks, depending on the role.

      Cons

Cons of TikTok: Bad Leadership: Leadership can sometimes be disconnected from the day-to-day reality of employees. Strategic direction may feel unclear, and decision-making can appear chaotic at times. Constant Reorganizations: Frequent restructures and shifting team priorities can lead to confusion and disruption. This can undermine long-term stability and make it harder to build long-term projects or relationships. Office Politics: Like many large, fast-growing companies, there can be significant office politics, which might lead to frustration and hinder collaboration. Favoritism or power struggles may sometimes overshadow work itself. Quick Burnout: The intense pace of work, combined with high expectations and constant change, can lead to employee burnout. With a focus on speed and agility, personal well-being may sometimes be overlooked.

The HQ in Dublin have a lot of unexplained policies and vague employee rights

      Policy analyst
      Former employee

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good work life balance, Good amount of Paid sick leaves, and other benefits.

      Cons

When you get an internal promotion, you will still get your old position salary as a company policy, up to a year if you have a not very fair team leader, and the fair ones a very few. If you get a fair TL you will get the new position salary 6 MONTHS after passing the PR. Very Very shady policies

Strong team and culture, but communication and direction could be better

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The company offered a competitive benefits package, including health coverage, wellness initiatives, I worked with genuinely collaborative, skilled, and supportive colleagues who made day-to-day work enjoyable and motivating

      Cons

One of the challenges I experienced was inconsistent or unclear communication or direction from leadership. Important decisions or changes were sometimes not communicated in a timely manner, which occasionally impacted alignment and efficiency across teams
