      Cons

being far away from the business and market some tech managers lack people management skills

Best Company I’ve Ever Worked At

      Ad operations specialist
      Current employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great managers, supportive and uplifting team, great work life balance, company is in a favorable position in the market

      Cons

Not a lot of growth in this position

      Avoid

      Senior software engineer
      Former employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Don't need to pay for haircuts, the stress makes it all fall out - Some teams are reasonable to be on, but you have to get lucky. - Tubi is well known for producing the weirdest super bowl ad of all time. - Pay is ok. But 401k match not vesting until 4 years is a sham given you won't be here that long

      Cons

      - Very disorganized company. You'll be told to build things or implement ideas this week and reprimanded for doing them the next week. - Always on culture, 60+ hour weeks are consistent. Every oncall shift is a nightmare, I often received 10-20 phone calls a day from the alert system at all hours. - Engineers/ICs get absolutely no input into estimations or timelines. You will be told to do things over a weekend that would normally take 2 months even if all goes well. Managers are quite frankly delusional. - Managers will give an Android engineer access to Copilot and expect them to spin up kubernetes clusters. Who needs expertise when you have AI? - Reorgs every few months - Communication is locked down to the point of every team having its own private slack channel. If you aren't in the right circles you will simply not have the information needed to succeed. - If you are creative or need even a little bit of autonomy, this is not the place to be. You will be told what to build, how to build it, and how long you have to complete it. Very little room for ideas to bubble up.

Better than Quibi not as good as N-flix

      Senior creative lead
      Former employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Left alone for days at a time with no one looking over my shoulder. Easy work. Nice co-workers. Hybrid.

      Cons

No management whatsoever. The creativity is lacking. Marketing is outsourced and makes no sense to the end user. UI is dated and any suggestions how how to make the service more premium is shot-down unless it comes from outside source or is brain-child of uppermost management
