How is the work/life balance at UMortgage?

Growth opportunity if you can last longer than 6 months. Ability to make an impact on business because of how understaffed teams are. The people who work here and have survived at least 1 year are phenomenal, but also burnt out. Be prepared for turnover because once top talent is able to leave, believe me they will.

Revolving door of leadership and team members. Learn to fear Fridays because it seems like every week team members disappear. No support for senior management, just excuses. Company culture = drinking the Koolaid and ignoring all the internal problems Company ran by sales people. Management has no experience within the departments they are overseeing and it shows. No consistency across the board for how team members are treated. They will play favorites. Be prepared to be taken advantage of and have no work/life balance.

Toxic culture masked by fake positivity If you value your mental health, time, or career growth, look elsewhere. This company will grind you into the ground with ZERO work-life balance. You’ll be berated by loan officers who think tantrums and belittling are the key to success, only to have them run to management whenever they don’t get their way. Instead of support, expect management to turn a blind eye or side with the complainers. Joel is a fake. Beware of the Casas they are bloodsucking vampires. The training is a joke, if it can even be called that. It’s minimal, and far from equipping you for the chaos you’ll face. The workplace is disturbingly insular—marriages, nepotism, and cliques run rampant, creating a deeply unprofessional environment. They shove fake positivity down your throat like some kind of cult, but the truth is, no one wants to be there. People are just biding their time until they can escape. To make it worse, management is inexperienced, unqualified, and incompetent. Many lack even a basic understanding of mortgages, which is baffling given their roles. Their leadership style is disorganized at best, nonexistent at worst. When you approach them with questions, you’re met with blank stares or outright ignorance. Leadership here is trash, plain and simple. It’s no surprise so many employees have quit.

I used to love my team, had many members in Spring/Summer '22. Younger interns, etc. Good leaders in departments (NOT CSUITE)

After summer '22 the interns left, lots of departments got cut and nothing has been the same since. Many great coworkers were let go and empty desks were left in their place. Yeah -- we do lots of $$$ volume, but 100% of the workload is put on a handful of Loan Coordinators & other members. hundreds of LOs who have no respect for time zones, or work-life balance, who all work with 5-8 people during the mots importent stages of a file.

If you are willing to not have a life, you can make ok money.
