What is the salary like at Victra-Verizon Authorized Retailer?

50% off VZ service, ability to make commission (only semi-decent money if you're in a busy location) Can move up into management easy, if you produce good numbers / have a good relationship with your DM.

Constantly micro-managed over almost every metric. 1-2 meetings a week if you fall short on certain metrics. You're sometimes expected to meet in person for it, even on a scheduled day off. Encouraged by leadership to slam / scam customers, commission structure has gotten progressively worse for reps / store managers every year, health insurance is not good, hourly rate is minimum wage where as corporate Verizon pays $3-5 more in hourly PLUS higher commissions than Victra.

The hourly pay is not good but at least it is uncapped commission so if you know how to sell and if your good with customers, you can get a decently pay.

Victra will try to squeeze the life out of you. You will notice fast that you are just a number to the company and if you don't perform to their high sales process standards. Victra will find a way to get rid of you. Job security is not present here.

This job advertises earnings of $40,000–$60,000 per year, but during my time there I earned under $20,000 annually. There is no realistic path to the advertised salary range. The role pays minimum wage plus a maximum 6% commission, meaning that selling $1,000 only results in a $60 commission. Large commission checks (like the $5,000+ amounts I was led to believe were possible) are not achievable under the actual pay structure. Even the manager running two stores earns only around $40,000, so the advertised $60,000 is unrealistic for anyone. If your store is slow, the earnings are especially low. I also experienced serious verbal harassment from the manager. On more than one occasion I was subjected to profanity and personal insults, including being called an some obscenities. These incidents happened after I had opened the store, worked alone through busy periods, and the manager arrived much later. Overall, the pay expectations are misleading and the management environment I experienced was extremely hostile.

Unlimited PTO is nice, being able to control your schedule is nice.

You'll find some of the best humans around in this industry, and some of the worst. You can find joy in this role if you love tech, love helping others, and love learning.

Figured it out recently, so deleted prior review to provide this more accurate, bullet proof analysis: The reason Victra is Verizon's largest retailer is not because they're the most mature, successful, well structured and operationally optimized retailer. Victra is Verizon's largest retailer because they've relied on external funding for rapid expansion of their retail footprint, currently sitting with over $1 Billion in debt, with sizable chunk repayments due in February 25 and November 25 and again in February 26. Guess how they're making those payments? By cutting commission rates. After working at plenty of places, I can tell you the math boils down to this: retailers can afford to pay sales reps at most about 38% of the gross profit earned on any individual sale; if they pay higher than that then operations will be awful and result in lost revenue. Victras new comp plan guarantees 10 hourly, but you're pretty much capped at 18% of gross profit and the guaranteed 1600 monthly does NOT catch you up to the ceiling you'll find at other retailers because you're only getting to that 18% if you're performing in the top 10%. I've consistently been in at least the top 20% and about half my months in top 10%. What I can tell you as simply as possible about the bottom line is this: After recent changes to commission that tie your commission rate directly to tenure, I get about 32% less compensation at Victra than I would at other retailers AND that is only done through getting paid overtime rates with over 50 hours put in weekly, NOT through a generous commission structure; factor out the overtime bump to create an apples to apples comparison to a draw commission structure then I'm getting about 40% less commission than other retailers provide. If 5K employees lose an average of $20K commission due to new structure then Balot nets an additional $100MIL he can use to pay down that $1BIL debt the company owes.

Great Team, Community, Competitive, Good pay if you work really hard and produce and a high level.

Favoritism, Overly Political...There is minimal room for growth in SoCal. The DM's rule supreme and have no accountability for themselves. The need a real restructure in SoCal from the DM's down. A lot of managers lack integrity and create horrible experiences for customers and ethical people. SoCal is not the place for those who have morals. Until the middle management level changes then stay away.

Pay is good if the store stays busy, the shifts go by pretty quick.
