What is the hiring process like at White Cap?

      Sinking Ship

      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Working with great people liked my direct managers and coworkers.

      Cons

Very high turnover, no stability in branch employees No stability in upper management. Clear lack of direction in the company No one was ever held accountable Very hard to get help from product specialist Not enough inside sales people so you had to do most of your own orders even when out on the road The training provided in Birmingham did not apply what so ever in my region and was truly a waste of time. Senior account managers would not help or give you advice what so ever. No stock of any popular product in branches Huge inventory problems Very misleading in the interview process about the job and responsibilities

Great culture and leadership, but layoffs are random

      Field service technician
      Current contractor
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Stellar leadership, great company culture. They really seem to put value in inclusion and diversity which is something that's hard to find in the construction field. Value feedback.

      Cons

Layoffs at random, organization could be better (integration team being 1-year contracts only, constantly swapping out talent to keep costs down instead of hiring W2 employees)

      Incompetent Management

      Pros

Incompetent management brought over from lowest, now we all see why they were eager to let M.Stafford go. No Real World experience in the Cobstruction industry, He succeeded in turning White Cap & our location from bring the most respected supply store inti a run if the mill "Walgreens" type of storefront!! All morale has Been lost, I personally know of 3 sales guys and 5 guys from the truckers to the warehouse actively looking to jump ship. He let me go on a fabricated write up. I was written up in mid December for supposedly breaking a rule in October and subsequently let go in January for that rule I was accused of breaking that neither him nor his flunkie could show me what the actual rile was that i broke in the drivers handbook nor in the company handbook and we had just finished catching up on our training videos because of the merger, over 40hiyrs of videos and I've got a photographic memory, the rule I was accused of breaking wasn't in any of the company training & safety guides or videos, but he fired me for that. And then I find out that I'm replaced by a class A driver, I didn't have my class A yet. It wasn't required when I was hired and coincidentally, when he found out in the beginning of December, a week later I was written up for something I supposedly did in October and fired me in January, and replace me with a class a driver and from my understanding the whole driver fleet now all have class A licenses, doesn't thst sound a little fisher? Also, they won't give me copies of my personal records that they legally have top, I've left over 2 dozen messages and phone calls with no response, that's the type of unprofessionalosm you can expect if you get hired on, i wish you luck .

      Cons

Read above & stay away from mike stafford and his stretchy jeans and his ginger pet
