Our CEO never does the initial interviews, I do. If I find it worthy for a second interview and only if it is for an executive position, then he joins me for a second round interview. Although, there may be instances where other executives join the second interview based on the position, at no point a lower level employee interviews his or her boss. As I mentioned in several of my responses to others, recently, we were awarded Golden Gate Certificate by CAL OSHA for 100% compliance which is not something easy to get. We are also being audited by at least two outside auditors hired by our major clients for compliance with State and Federal laws. We are proud of our compliance record. The 2/3 of all our employees are female and more than half of executives are female as well. Most of our long-term employees (anywhere between 30 and 45 years employment) are females. 1928 Jewelry employs people from all ages (our average age is 55 years old), all genders, all races, and all ethnic and religious backgrounds. The only family member employed is VP of Specialty Stores who is the CEO's elder brother and no sycophant for sure (sweetest man you can meet).
