      Machine Learning Engineer Interview

      May 29, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at AKASA

      Interview

Recruiter call, phone call with HM, onsite Pretty standard interview process but wasn't the greatest experience. The interviewers barely tried to get to know me and some seemed to be pushing their accomplishments and titles pretty heavily, almost trying to undermine me.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The technical parts of the interview consisted of coding up an ML algorithm from scratch, a modeling exercise with a small data set, leetcode type questions, and deeper ML concept questions related to resume experience.

      Machine Learning Engineer Interview

      Jan 26, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at AKASA

      Interview

Spoke with a recruiter over the phone, then interviewed with two engineers on the ML team and then finally with a member from the C Suite. Overall process was very smooth and the recruiter was very on top of scheduling interviews. The engineers I spoke to were super friendly and the interviews were much less tense/awkward than I had experienced in interviewing with other companies.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Can't go into specifics but the initial interviews focused on engineering fundamentals and leetcode type questions while the later interviews focused more on Machine Learning fundamentals and company fit.

      Machine Learning Engineer Interview

      May 19, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AKASA (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2020

      Interview

The initial screening was done by HR/Recruiter who spoke well and asked to send a sample code for the next phone screen. The technical phone screen was with a ML lead whom frankly i thought didn't know to ask questions / interview candidates that well as he repeatedly interrupted me while speaking. Also, I was given access to coder-pad for the interview but no questions were asked in coding as interviewer seemed in some sort of a hurry.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

If you have billion records and you can access them only one at a time, how do you get 100 records randomly ?
