I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AMAG Technology (Tewkesbury, England)
Interview
A light hearted and informal chat aimed at finding a good culture fit. Typically there are 3 stages:
1. A telephone interview to screen people.
2. An in person interview with the lead developer
3. An in person interview with the lead developer and head of department.
We walked through various parts of my CV, explaining the technology used and why it was chosen. It wasn't a grilling, more of a chat about the problems faced and what solutions were used to provide functionality.
After the interview I was presented with a background check form to fill out. After that was cleared a formal offer would be made.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at AMAG Technology (Tewkesbury, England) in Dec 2015
Interview
Interview panel of 3 including the hiring manager and 2 team members. An introduction to the company and the role. Then moved on to looking through my CV and giving more details about my experience. I was given a test where I was asked to review some C code to find the 15 to 20 errors and style problems. Most were obvious. It turned out that the real code was worse than the “bad” test code
