      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at APL Media (London, England) in Nov 2022

      Interview

I had a Teams call with Victoria. She went through the role and told me about the company and its growth. I was excited to hear more as she spoke with so much passion. She asked me about my goals and my background and asked me why I thought id be a good fit? I then met with the sales director Alex who told me more about the news paper groups they work with and his expectations.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at APL Media (London, England) in Aug 2021

      Interview

2 telephone conversations, followed by a f2f. From the very beginning, I was very open about having a hybrid working arrangement and being on 35k, with my salary expectations matching this. After a very odd f2f interview, in which an arrogant man came in unprepared and talked down to me, he said they'd be making me an offer. I received this offer before I even got home (so I can't have been that bad). Offer was 27k and 5 days in the office! I queried both things and was told they could up the offer to 30k, but new people being in the office full time was mandatory! They would not budge on this even when I explained that I could not afford to live if I had to pay for 5 days childcare costs on a 30k salary. All I was told was 'well when you start smashing it on commission...'. Their final offer was for me to work a 3 day week, in the office every working day, and be paid pro rata. I explained that this was in no way helping, and declined the offer. Such an old fashioned outlook. Vile
