I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Acrylicize (London, England) in Apr 2025
Interview
The conversation felt more like an informal chat rather than a structured assessment. There wasn't one particularly memorable or challenging question during the interview. They asked a few very general questions like "Tell me about yourself" and "Why this role?" and had me walk through my portfolio, but there were no in-depth questions about my design process, leadership skills, or how I would approach specific challenges.

Question 1
Honestly, there wasn't one particularly. It seemed like they hadn’t clearly defined what they were looking for, which aligns with the fact that the position had been open for two years, suggesting potential challenges internally with decision-making and clarity around hiring needs.
The call I had wasn't very engaging and I'd have appreciated the interviewer to show more interest in me and what I can bring to the role.
Also, I received my rejection twice (2 days apart), and no acknowledgment or anything when I email to say this has come through twice. Make me thing there is lack of candidate experience and no attention to details.

Question 1
Standard questions such as what attracted you to the role and our company? Are happy to work on site? And so on.
Thanks for your feedback. I have emailed you this morning to apologise for the second rejection email. We are having some technical difficulties with our HR software but I do apologise, we should have called you directly.
We have a small team here and are trying to hire a number of positions at the moment. Unfortunately, the volume of candidates and a new ATS system got the better of us this time. We're making changes and introducing extra checks to ensure this doesn't happen again.
Wishing you all the best in finding the right position.
Pros - Interesting questions, made me feel at ease and went out of their way to create a good rapport. Seems like a good company
Cons - Did not feedback
Thanks for your feedback and I'm very sorry that you did not receive feedback post-interview.
If you'd like to reach back out to us I would love to look into what happened to ensure it doesn't happen again.
