This interview process was a total disaster of disorganized, time-wasting, lack of respect for the dignity of qualified persons applying. I speak for me about their disrespect.
I began my interest in Addressable in the later part of May 2022. From June 1, 2022 until this morning, June 14, 2022 Addressable dragged me in and out of their 'process' of hiring. That 'process' include two weeks of answering questions, taking personality test, two interviews and then a full weekend without any real date given where I would be given an answer regarding my being hired.
The first interview seemed so promising to the extent that their employee even gave me a phone script to prepare for my next interview.
When the second interview arrived online via video chat, I knew something was wrong. I understood quickly that something was NOT RIGHT. Prior to the second interview I was told by the first employee who I would be speaking with. I went online to do research on that employee and saw all of his other affiliations and his businesses, but I saw no affiliation with Addressable and no Addressable email contact.
So, his first words were about where I applied for this position. He seemed ill prepared, since he was a bit leaning over and not really giving eye contact with interest in anything I was saying. He looked like he was using a pen to make big pictures on his table before me. There was NO ATTENTIVENESS.
I told him where I admired his businesses online that I couldn't find his connection to Addressable so I didn't know if he was that person I was told to expect in this second interview. He bragged about having other businesses. Is that why he is dodging his connection with Addressable? It seemed like Sketchy stuff!
So, after answering all of his hypothetical and 'tell me when' questions which he asked in such a prideful way so as to not seem interested in what my real answers were....I just was confused. He even corrected the pronunciation of one of the first words that left my mouth!
He told me that he is interviewing the next hire to work on his team.....HIS TEAM!
Yes, this must be why they are hiring, because just spending a few minutes with this man and you will understand his own lack in interacting respectfully, humbly and honestly with people he interviews. Can You Imagine Working Under Such A Person? I can and I did. So what did I do next?
On June 10,2022 I wrote a thank you letter the day after that confusing, waste-of-time interview to the head of the company and the first employee who interviewed me. I thanked them thus far for their lengthy process and I even flagged that whether I worked under their last manager who interviewed me or not, I would really like to work for the company. Why did I say that?
It is because I knew immediately that I was not the first person who this manager had disrespected in their alleged search for a sales professional. I know, because I read a review online about it here on glassdoor. His pridefullness is his weakness. How can you possibly grow an effective and prosperous team below you when you can't even see past your own pride? He can't.
So, in my email, I was saying: I see what's going on and it has been way too much time, too much effort just to get through your barbed wire 'welcome all!' sign and I'm keeping my options open from other companies over the weekend.
I knew I wouldn't hear from them. I knew they wouldn't go any further with a man like me who calls what is clearly in the light for all to see. I am not perfect and I have flaws. But I respect others where these men do not.
I have found no female presence in their hiring process. I have found no diversity among all genders, races and identities in their hiring process.
What this company doesn't even think about while they throw all their eggs into one basket with one industry only while other companies are diversely focused is this: their very hopeful targeted client base are made up of every race, gender and identity....so why not embrace that from the core of your company before you try and hire people that fit your profit line alone?
They don't get it. Pride stands in their way and I am a person that has experienced that insecurity on their part.
When I asked for feedback from my tests....nothing!
When I asked for any clarity or decisive information....nothing!
When I got their email today, I rejoiced and called my friends to let them know that we were right about Addressable and it's 'Start-Up' mentality.
Yes, they ARE a start-up and we know that sometimes due to companies not treating others with respect....that start ups can simply stop.
Disrespect for Dignity Must STOP!
