If you ask for a higher starting wage, they will lead you to believe that they can give you more money based on your performance after 90 days. THAT'S A LIE! The truth is there's a long and completely biased system of joining the local union chapter 524 which forces new members to wait several months to be sworn in and once you've been sworn in, you're pay raise or promotion is voted upon by fellow employee union members that may or may not like you depending on how threatened they feel by you. Sound like a place you want to work? The company management and owners will claim they don't have the ability to promote or give pay raises due to their binding contract with the union. Again, THAT IS A LIE! They can and have given a very few select individuals a promotion without the union being involved.
