I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Algo Depth (Boston, MA) in Aug 2018
Interview
2 rounds. One is on programming/statistics/brain teaser. Very friendly interviewer and happy interview process. Second round is take-home project working on stock price prediction. Research-based and interesting. Then you got to present your discovery to the examiner.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Algo Depth (New York, NY) in Sep 2018
Interview
The whole process was a waste of time. They just want free labor from the interviewers.
They asked me to read two papers to give them a presentation. Just before the interview, they wanted me to sent them my power point files, which is a very unusual and unnecessary request. They also wanted my code I implemented from those papers. I managed to do good during the interview and gave me an offer. However, they start to not answer my emails, but still scheduled a time for a phone call to discuss the salary. No body ever called. Later I received an email saying they cannot give me an offer because they "didn't feel right". If you didn't feel right, then why proceed with my interview and provide an offer? This is the most absurd and unprofessional interview experience I've ever encountered. I feel tricked for providing them my power point files for free.
