      Administrative Assistant Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at All Points Media (Beaverton, OR) in Nov 2025

      Interview

Atrocious. I started with a video interview with someone presumably from HR or operations, her position was not communicated. That portion was fine. I got a follow up interview with the CEO a couple days later via zoom, he started off telling me that he expects his employees to keep their political stances private and professional but that he is MAGA and conservative himself and that in today’s world he has to disclose that. …. Throughout the interview the CEO told me many times that they work hard but play harder. That their work parties everyone drinks and that “every drug imaginable is on the table” at their work parties and how they will go out for drinks on Fridays as a team and etc. I mean, props for the transparency, but he mentioned this a good five times. He also said that in his 30+ years he has only ever had one good admin assistant, which feels like a red flag to me. Oddly personal details were shared too by the CEO. Work life balance did not sound healthy. Then I had an in person interview. CEO, who said to keep politics away from work, had a MAGA hat on his desk, lots of liquor on display and a white board with magnetic letters on it and the letters k-u-n-t were all really close together and clearly had been arranged to spell it out until the T was bumped. He said I would be meeting with someone for the interview, (let’s say Bob) then Bob wasn’t available so he gave me a tour. Then he put me in a room to get Bob, but came in with (let’s say Jane). Jane interviewed me despite being clearly unprepared and not experienced in doing the interviews. Sarah went to get the CEO and returned with (let’s say Jane). Jane then also unprepared and inexperienced with interviewing, interviewed me. The job was posted at a monthly rate when it was supposed to be the yearly rate, though this was obvious and not misleading for me, just showed some disorganization. The CEO had no clue what the job pay was posted at, could not answer any benefits questions to speak of either. I never heard back one way or another. I wish I was making even a portion of this up, I cannot believe a company could run this way at all. I really get an icky sense of their culture there of “snitches get stitches” “good ol’ boys club” sort of thing.
