Basically after applying for an events based job requiring bar and customer service experience they invited me for an interview no information around the role itself or wage were disclosed only the possibility for promotion and company structure were discussed I was asked a few simple question why should you have the job over others etc. I was told I would find more out about the role if I was invited back to the assessment day.
I was invited back for the assessment day and asked to dress formally and bring a pen and paper. They made no mention we would need to bring money for travel and I was told to clear my day. In the interview room it was obvious that no one else had any idea what the job was either. They partnered us up with assistants and then sent us off for the day you were expected to by your travel tickets or in my case dropped off in Manchester. The assessment interview took place largely on a wall outside a shop. When we got their it became clearly that the job is essentially fund raising. They asked me several question and gave me far too long to answer the whole process was dragged out and unnecessary. They advertised the job as 300-500 pounds a month but this is a total lie the job is actually commission based, you could come out with nothing and you'd have make around 20 sales to get the figures advertised. I eventually declined the job they expected me to pay my own way back from Manchester or wait for 3 hours until they left for home, which was obviously uncomfortable and awkward. It was going to cost around 20 pounds to get back as someone who is unemployed this is not acceptable. We were not told we'd be going this far out and if they'd advertised the job for what it was then I wouldn't have wasted my time going for the interview the entire process was drawn out and a waste of time. I don't know why anyone would want to work for such a deceitful company.
