I interviewed with a recruiter on 1/24/25, and the conversation went well. She was kind, and I connected with her easily. After following up a week later, I received an invitation for a second and final panel interview. I completed that interview with the Director and CPO on 2/7, and it also felt like a positive experience.
After 10 days without any updates, I followed up with the recruiter again. She informed me that they were making a decision that week and assured me she would keep me posted. That was two weeks ago.
I understand that hiring decisions take time and that there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. However, communication is so important in recruiting, keeping candidates informed and showing respect for their time makes all the difference. Candidates are expected to be flexible and give up their time and energy for multiple rounds of interviews, yet no one can send them a quick email to keep them informed. It only takes a few minutes. Especially when they are a final candidate in the round. Once they are a final candidate, they should at the very least receive a phone call. It's very discouraging how companies are treating candidates these days.
