Organised through Pareto Law. They were great at getting things organised and were friendly. I was called within days for an initial phone interview, asking about sales experience and education. I was offered the assessment day on the spot, which was in Wilmslow. The job was in Newcastle, but the company would pay the travel costs up to £100 which was good.
Firstly we were given a maths test to see how we would score on it.
We were asked to stand up infront of everyone and give our name, an inspirational person and our biggest achievement. I assumed this was a confidence test.
We then were sorted into groups of around 7/8people and were given a scenario where we had to fit for our inspirational person to be put on a safety raft.
We then were asked to do another task similar where we were given a list of objects we had and we had to sort their importance if we were in a desert.
We were then in a short interview, where my interviewer was nice and relaxed, it’s was very short.
Finally we had been asked to do a 2 minute presentation to why we would be good at the job and why we chose Amari Metals. I felt very uncomfortable in the room in this situation because of the interviewers. (From someone who has done sales presentations to groups of 50+ people) They then implied they were employing for more than one role and asked my opinion on which I’d be best at, I answered honestly and was accused of “jumping ship”.
This automatically made me not want the job if I was offered it. I felt like I had been tricked.
