Really interesting interview, they only asked me a few standard interview questions (why do you want to work here, strengths, etc.), and then we spent most of the time talking about climate security issues. It felt more like a conversation than an interview. About 30 minutes long on the phone. If you can show that you are interested/know about the topic you applied for, you’ll do great.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at American Security Project (Washington, DC) in Mar 2017
Interview
Phone interview that lasted about 45 minutes with a current staff member. Overall a very fun interview – the staff member was very friendly, and we also had a very interesting conversation about American national security. Unfortunately I was unable to take the position, but the application process itself was very enjoyable.
